Carhartt Men's 10" Ardmore Rugged Work Khaki Short

I have purchased/worn dozens of Carhartt pants and shorts in my life and have never been disappointed. Have a range from the more rugged duck canvas to dressier for the office. Nobody fits my body style better than Carhartt so I try to buy their pants and shorts for all of my clothing needs as much as possible.Bought these shorts in Gravel for their clean, simple look to wear more for weekend picnics/casual wear than for tough work. Fit just fine but was very disappointed that, after their initial washing, the coloring of the pants went from a nice, full rich shade of gray to a stonewashed look. There is a bunch of bad white veining similar to marble or salt stains from winter wear. At first thought perhaps our laundry detergent did not dissolve properly causing this appearance. Washed a second time using liquid detergent and received the same result. Probably would not care so much if the shorts were destined to be covered in paint, joint compound, grease etc. but was planning more to wear them with a polo/button up shirt.Hopefully they were just part of a bad run of dye as I have never experienced this kind of discoloration with any other Carhartt product before.

I initially purchased these shorts for Mr. MVP because they were simple cotton shorts that had at least an 11 inch inseam. Men's shorts seem to be shrinking at an alarming rate. Although Mr. MVP is not a carpenter or handyman, he does enjoy being comfortable on the weekend, so when the first pair of these shorts arrived in Mr. MVP's size, 40 I was dismayed that they did not fit. These shorts run small. As Mr. MVP liked the length and the weight of the cotton, I ordered a size up and those worked just fine. For practical purposes, Mr. MVP is 6 feet tall and stocky. These shorts hit right at his knee. The cotton is fairly thick, but Mr. MVP said that it does breathe.

Look fabulous and fit well. I bought them (online) for my husband and they fit perfectly. Carhartt products are great, and he likes this style the most because it doesn't have the loop for a hammer. My husband bought his first pair of Carhartt shorts over two years ago ... and they're not frayed. The only thing that has happened over time is the excessive wearing in sunshine and washing has caused them to fade, but they still are rugged and holding together very well.

Great canvas shorts for the price. The seams are triple stitched where fabric joins. The extra pocket on the right side is the perfect size for my iPhone 6+ but most often for my bifold. I am 6'2" and these fall just above the knee when standing and about a 4" rise when sitting. The only downside is the relaxed fit, I am thin and have a somewhag high 32" waist and these are lacking in the crotch region.All and all a great addition if you're looking for simple shorts that are durable and hard-wearing.

These shorts fit as expected. They ride comfortably at the waist and break at the top of the leg without pulling on the leg each step.The style and cut work well for work or around town equally. The one shortcoming is the fascia at the front pocket. It is too short and the white lining inside the pocket flashes from the side commonly. Extending the fascia deeper into the pocket would solve the problem and shouldn't cost Carhartt much in manufacturing.

I like these shorts. They look good enough to wear golfing, and they're durable enough for working. I wouldn't mind if the cell phone pocket was a little higher. Having another one on the left side also would be a plus. Expect some fading and shrinkage over time.

I love the fact it has the small pocket on the right side for my work tool (knife) and it has the new pocket I've never had before on the right side of the leg. Apparently it's the cell phone pocket and I like it! little weird keeping your phone in a new place at first, but I believe it's much safer there and easy to get out when you are in weird bent positions. I'll be buying more for sure.

I had previously submitted a two star review because the shorts had a snag/blemish and I was minimally upset.I have discussed with the seller and all is well.Kurt
