Wow I didn't think this would do much, how wrong was I, absolutely brilliant job of Cleaning my Iron, one happy customer 😀

After annoyingly dropping my brand new steam iron on our newish carpet and ruining it, but the carpet is a different story! My iron had all burnt carpet fibres stuck to the plate! I bought this and followed the instructions and it worked by removing all the burnt carpet and staining, with only a few stubborn miniscule marks remaining. You must use a 100% cotton cloth, I used an old wash mitt and the iron must be hot when you apply the cream or else it will not work, so make sure the cotton cloth is thick so you don't scold yourself. You do have to work on the iron using your strength to clean in circular motions. Remember to ensure that you clean off the residue of cream from the plate and holes when you've finished and your good to go. The smell isn't strong or off putting. The cream is good value for money. However, it didn't work at all on my hair straighteners, so I would only recommend this product for an iron. The burn on my carpet, unfortunately can't be remedied and so I had to buy a rug to cover it up!

Worked well on light deposits on my steam iron. I heated the iron, and then turned it off before applying the thin gelwith a cotton cloth. a final rub up, and it was good as new.

It worked. Had stupidly put very hot iron on a polyester fabric. Used this with an old pure cotton sock. The stuck-on burnt fabric came off easily and quickly. A light stain of burnt fabricr colour emained but as long as it does not transfer to other clothes, it doesn't matter.

I would happily recommend this product . Gave my steam iron a really good clean after I badly scorched it several months ago. Just follow the instructions carefully for a really good clean. Nice to find a product that does exactly what it says it will

It’s fine overall. However, please ensure you have a piece of 100% cotton cloth on hand to use this product. While this detail is included in the instructions, the text is so small that I had to use a magnifier to read it. It cleaned 70%.

Had high hopes for this and whilst it has worked, its not done what we thought so have dropped a star. The staining on the actual hotplate is still their but it has removed all the hardened much that had accured on the plate.Not a chance of getting the bits in the veins of the plate if thats the right phrase.You need to use a 100% cotton cloth, no explanation as to why but we ended up using an old pillow case.
