Fixed my Bosch front load washing machine drum with water in it overnight
I have a Bosch front loaded washing machine. With washing machine off, over night, the drum would have water in it. The drum was empty after washing clothes, so this was a slow leak. I purchased this cold water inlet valve to fix the issue.I was able to tell it was a problem with the cold water inlet through a test. I shut off the cold water to the machine. Let it sit over night. and the drum was dry. I turned off the hot water to the machine, turned the cold water back on. Let it sit over night and there was water.I am not trained in this in any way, but the fix was easy. I did watch a few youtube videos. Here are the basic steps, but this is not a guide. Please watch a video for a better explanation or call a repair person.Essentially, unplug the machine from the outlet, disconnect the water, then you take out two screws from the top back of the machine to take the top off. This coldwater inlet valve is at the top back of the machine. With the lid off, I disconnected the hosed and the power to the existing coldwater inlet valve. The cold water inlet valve will have two small tubs hooked up to it internally. The hot water valve just has one tube hooked up to it internally. The valve clips into the back of the machine. I would find a youtube video that shows how to remove the old valve and put in the new valve. You just need a flat head screwdriver to do it.

Worked like a charm, but needs better packaging.
Our 17-year-old Bosch washer was making noise on the initial water fill and the water flow under the soap lid was different. It would eventually kick over to normal but was taking longer and longer. I took a gamble this part had failed and ordered a new one. It was a small gamble compared to buying a new $1,500 washer. The part came in a plastic bag, not a box. The retainer tab that holds the valve in the washer's back panel was partially broken. It was still usable and took about 20 minutes to pull the washer out of its space, replace the part and put all back together. Machine works like new now. I would recommend the manufacturer or distributor ship this in a small box to protect it better.

Keep the plastic plug off your old solenoid
Worked well when installed a week ago. Listed as ‘Bosch’ on website, but even the original is not labeled as such. Seems equal in weight and build quality toe the original on my Nexxt 100 series. Love the washer and want to keep it going. Have replaced brushes twice. Great, quiet machine. One thing not immediately apparent when you go to install: the plug and prongs seem to not match the original. My wife noticed that you have press a catch and remove the top plastic part off if the selenoid. This part snaps on the new part and then accepts the washer plug with the 3 or 4 wires. The new part has green plastic instead of white. No big deal.

Defective out of box
Purchased this valve as our otherwise perfectly performing 18 year old Bosch washing machine was slowly collecting water in the drum between washes.Out of the box, the part differed to the Amazon image as some plastic components were teal green in color. Installation was very straight forward. However two issues became evident as soon as the machine was plugged back in, and the water hoses reconnected.Critically, the solenoid valve immediately failed. We also found that water poured out of the new part and into the body of the washing machine. On inspection the original part was rigidly constructed. The component parts of this OEM unit were very loosely put together, and wobbling. Poor construction was likely responsible for both the leaking and the solenoid failure. As a fyi, there was no option but to clean up the old valve and put it back in the machine ( slow leak vs deluge). I'm happy to report no water has collected in the machine drum some 3 days later. Perhaps it's worth trying to clean the old valve first, before jumping to buy a potentially substandard replacement?

Perfect solution for my 10 year old Bosch Nexxt 500 ...
Bought the Hot Water Inlet Valve and the Cold. Husband had the new ones installed in a few minutes. Perfect solution for my 10 year old Bosch Nexxt 500 washing machine - the drum started slowing filling with water to the point that I had to shut off the water to the machine after my last load of the day. Otherwise, water would overflow onto the floor by the next morning (I always leave the door open to the washer). An interesting tip I found was you should change the cold water inlet valve when you notice that the fabric dispenser does not drain properly. My dispenser has not worked correctly in at least a year. With the new valves installed, I feel like I have a brand new machine.

Perfect Fit
This is my third valve. The first was returned. The second was noisy and slams shut. Rather than be a troublesome consumer wanting to exchange a perfectly functional (yet noisy) valve, I just ordered a new one and will have a backup should I need it for my wonderful 18 year old Bosch Next washer.

Bosch cold water valve
Working great. Installation is straightforward with no modification required. Cost effective alternative to having a repairman billing.
