I bought Because of the phone protection to protect your window frame. However the turnscrew was so big it was very difficult to turn it while in place and you had to tighten it so hard that it even when you thought it was tight and move the window back it just opened right up slid it past that point so I literally had to take a pliers to tighten it and it was not worth the effort of putting it on

You can use these to limit or stop your sliding windows opening. I use these for my vinyl windows that have ACs installed. I also use these to allow sliding windows to open for air, but not all the way open. The double thumbscrews make it easy to install and require no drilling. These are easy to remove too if there's a fire or something. If you have kids you're trying to keep in like on higher floors, you may want ones that need tools to install or remove. Two screws apply more pressure than one. Tighten them down as hard as you can with your fingers. These should stay in place pretty well. These have a vinyl lining to keep from scratching. It fits up to 3/16" width with the lining. If you need a larger opening, you'll have to cut the liner in half to cover only the side with screws. In either case, have the liner touching the movable window so it doesn't scratch from the edge too. You can also take it out completely for even thicker material windows, larger than 3/8", and possibly have marring on the window frame from the screws. My window frames use 3/16" vinyl. The window locks went on tight and the thumb screws just keep them in place. I feel safer with these.The price is great for a 10 pack. That's 10 windows with single locks per window or if you double up locks, that's five windows. These are pretty solid and should last a very long time.

These are great extra security for sliding windows. I ordered for a vacation home with a lot of sliding windows that do not not have the best locks. These add just another added bit of security, and they are very good quality. They have rubber padding to both protect the vinyl track, and also to secure the lock from slipping. Nice!

I highly recommend this product for a peaceful sleep and peace of mind. I purchased the 10-pack to secure each window and an additional pack for both sides of the windows.
