CYA E6B: Your Wingman for Flight Calculations – Smooth Sailing Above!
Last week during my flight training, I was tangled in numbers trying to calculate wind correction. Enter the CYA E6B Metal Flight Computer. This trusty tool transformed me from a calculation novice to a cockpit wizard in minutes. With its sturdy metal build, it’s as reliable as my co-pilot (minus the chatter). Whether plotting courses or figuring fuel consumption, the E6B made it all a breeze. Even my instructor was impressed—no more fumbling with apps or mental math mishaps! It’s the perfect upgrade for any aviation enthusiast or student pilot looking to elevate their game. Five stars for turning flight planning from turbulence to smooth skies!

Markings rub off.
It is a well built E6B, but some of the markings do fade after time. I’ve had mine for just under two years now.

Disliked that the product is listed as aviation metal when it is plastic. RETURNED

Not a bad take for a training device
The media could not be loaded. The СУА ЕБВ-М is a reproduction of the classic E-6B slide rule. It doesn't quite have the fit and finish of a vintage one.The plastic spacer in particular has all sorts of mold lines on it. No cracks or things that get in the way functionally, just looks cheap. Same with the aluminum itself, just has sort of a budget-looking "grain" on the surface and the cuts on the edges are finished just alright. Among all the small gripes, my biggest would be that the wind side dial of the one I was sent is very scratchy. I'm almost wondering if it just has some dust in it from manufacturing and might take it apart and see if a good clean (and perhaps some graphite? or teflon drops? 🤷) makes it a little more pleasant to use.All that said, this really isn't a bad take on the device. The printing seems pretty well applied and generally sturdy and overall comfortable to hold and use. Comes with a half-decent slip case, and a quite decent little guidebook with plenty of "the following example outlines the procedure…" and even a number of practice problems for each topic.
