Thinnest and most stable Steam Deck case.
Best case for *just* the Steam Deck! no frills, no fancy SD card slots. just thin stable protection. There's cushion all around the case that hold the Steam Deck securely in place, with no rattling or anything when the case is closed (compared to the original and skull and Co case, which both bounce around inside) the carrying handle is also on the correct side to where you're not holding it down under the bumpers or triggers when you're carrying it. Even with the skull & Co stick grip covers, the stick buttons don't get pressed when you squish the case (compared to the original case which put immediate pressure on them) overall it's a fantastic case looks sleek and fits into my backpack easily because of the insane thinness of it!

Should be included with the device. Valve needs to contract Tomtoc.
Absolutely phenomenal case. This is honestly the case I wish the Steam Deck had come with. I know it might seem a bit ridiculous to get a case when the device includes one out of the box, but this goes beyond just treating yourself. The size and slimness just makes this a truly practical choice. Inside is a felt slit in the flap that covers the display for your micro SD cards. It is still big enough to use with the Skull & Co Grip Case. Though I personally choose to go without the gripcase now. Having the tomtoc allows you to enjoy the more naked feel of the Steam Deck knowing you can just put it back in this light and agile case whenever you're done. It is a shame Valve continues to produce what amounts to waste with the default case when they could clearly do better, but better is available and it's the Tomtoc carrying case, believe me.

Much smaller than the original Steam Deck carrying case
The original case of the Steam Deck has space for a charger, which is not really needed on the road, as the deck charges just fine with my regular USB-C charger. Because of that the original case is thick and bulky and barely fits in my backpack. The Tomtoc is much slimmer and easily fits. The quality is very good, with an YKK zipper and overall it looks and feels well made, and looks great. It also has a built in carrying strip, which is useful when carrying it solo.

Tomtoc doesn't miss
I love these cases! I bought 2 for my family's Nintendo Switches, and I loved how they were super slim yet protective. Even though my Deck came with a nice case, I knew I would want one similar to the Switch one. My only real complaint is a lack of colorways for the Deck compared to the Switch, but it truly is the inside that counts. I have used and abused this thing for the last 2 months every day, going in and out of my backpack I take to work, weekend excursions, and general protection when I'm (sadly) not playing. I even put on different back paddles and it still fits perfectly and I have had 0 issues with the sticks, the screen, or any cosmetic blemishes from its time in the case. This won't save your Deck from straight up negligence or more serious impacts, but no case is designed for that. I have no concerns about my deck being safe in the Tomtoc case. (And I will buy another if more colors drop!)

Great slim travel case
Great alternative to the OG steam deck case. The OG one is more protective but way bulkier. This case makes travelling so much easier. There is some smaller storage on the inside and some pads to support the deck but I mostly just appreciate how much slimmer it is. It seems sturdy and durable enough to commute and travel with if you have it secure in another bag. I imagine you could drop it from a considerable height without any damage to the system. Overall impressed by the quality and form factor.

Good case but received a used one when I purchased new.
Fits my Steam Deck fine, even with a gripcase on it. It’s a nice case, not quite as robust seeming as the original that comes with the Deck, but slimmer and with more room if you have accessories like a grip case or stick grips. I'm a little upset though it seems to be used. It came in an unsealed ziplock style bag, and on opening it the case had none of the expected tags and such included as I've seen on reviews here and on Youtube. Also, there was a random yellow microfiber cloth in the inside flap for a parking company brand which I know of as air travel related parking, meaning someone travelled with it. Not happy about that at all. Really tired of receiving used item when I purchase new, and this is far from the first time it's happened. To be clear, I’m happy with tomtoc and amended my review to four stars. They offered me a full refund for the product but I declined as this issue was not their fault and lies with Amazon, and the case I received is still like new. I’m just less inclined to buy from Amazon after receiving used items across multiple purchases in the last year.

Much smaller than original. Looks like a great case.
Others have provided great comparison images. So I won't re-work what they've already done. This is a great case. It is thinner and narrower than the original Steam Deck Case. Though with that thinness it is unclear if the protection is as good. This TomToc Case is a harder case than the original, so that is a plus. The Tomtoc is too new, for there to be any good drop reviews online, but if the Steam Deck case acts anything like the Switch Case, it should be a good protective case. I've added joystick caps. Like the original, the Tomtoc case closes without pressing on the added height of the joysticks with caps. But also like the original case, the Tomtoc case has enough flex, that when pressed you can hear the joysticks press down and click. Without the Caps, the original case did not press down on the joysticks. I expect the Tomtoc would be the same but don't want to remove the caps to test. I do not like that the capped joysticks click when the case is pressed. I will be returning the TomToc case because of this. If I didn't have caps, I'd consider keeping the TomToc case, as it is a much slimmer option over the original.

Excellent value proposition
This is the most compact carrying case I could find for the steam deck. It protects the device well and fits in my bag. I also love the carrying handle. The price is amazing. Tomtoc has done it again with this one.

Mucho mas compacta que la funda original que recibes al comprar la Steam Deck. Ademas la protege contra golpes y caídas leves, salpicaduras, etc. Muy buena.

**5 Stars - Perfect Protection for My Steam Deck!** I’m so impressed with the tomtoc Carrying Case for my Steam Deck! The case is super sturdy and provides excellent protection with its thick padding and reinforced corners. The interior is well-organized with a soft lining to keep my Steam Deck safe from scratches and bumps. It also has extra compartments for accessories like cables, SD cards, or even a charger, which is really convenient. The zippers are smooth, and the handle makes it easy to carry around. It’s the ideal case for anyone who wants to keep their Steam Deck protected while on the go. Highly recommend!

I wanted a smaller case than the default one that came with the steam deck. I use a grip case with a kickstand on my deck. It does fit in the black tomtoc case with no room to spare, it is SNUG! I had to remove the two velcro strips located on the inside of the case to mske it fit. At first, the fitment was tight, but will form fit once settled. You have to line up deck just right to have the sticks go in the correct placement (takes a few tries) and will become easier the more times you zip it close. I feel the deck is safe in this case and will have no issues placing it in your backpack/bag. The deck does not move at all once it's in the case. Would recommend to someone looking for a more travel friendly case.
