Wont work unless your sync is updated to sync 3.3So i manually updated it thru cyanlabs on google and you will need a usb drive to program it to the new usb device you’re purchasing it was very easy watch a youtube video on how and youll have apple carplay

30 sec install works perfectly if you have sync 3.0
Installed in 30 seconds, in my 2016 mustang gt performance package. I confirmed I had sync 3.0 then ordered it . Arrived the next day on a Sunday… installed , and bam . Apple car play works .

Worked right away.
I was a little worried at first, but took a chance. Took about 3 minutes to swap out in my 2016 Mustang GT and worked perfectly in startup. It should be noted as a reminder to anyone trying to use this for Apple CarPlay to make sure your SYNC 3 is at least version 3.0.

Fit my 2018 Explorer
Bought a used Explorer and everything worked except Android Auto. Kept getting the "USB device not responding" error. Tried multiple cables with the same result. This was NOT the part # I found online, but it IS the part number that my local dealership said I needed. Found here on Amazon for nearly 1/2 what the dealership wanted. Worked perfectly with my 2018 Ford Explorer Sport which came with Sync 3.0 from the factory.

Hub part # & system Update are Critical
Had to exchange but worked out well. Know your part numbers and reference the one in your car on arrival. A lot of these are interchangeable just make sure it’s a supported one because you may not get the exact one in the description.I think i got shipped a used/returned one identical to the original in my car which had me think I wouldn't be able to get Apple CP.I used Cyan labs to update which was easy enough if you have baseline knowledge but just follow instructions you’ll be fine. I actually had trouble and went straight to version 3.4 on my sync 3 from version 1.0 and it worked with the correct hub.Would still recommend you update in order 1-2.2-3-3.3-3.4 to be safe. I used an old 500gb HDD with a 3.0 usb cable instead of a flashdrive too. This is on a 16 Gt premium

We tried another usb module and received errors, so we decided to get the OEM one instead. We had zero issues installing it and took less than 5 minutes.
