The taste was better than hickory farms and not as greasy. Didn’t seem to have the fat texture or taste. I feel the cost was better for the quality than hickory farms also for that size. We have bought several times and all were perfect and no greasiness

Well made, good value when compared to others, and although I love garlic I just didn't like the flavor of this. But it was nice that it didn't have stringy pieces of tendon and fat blobs like another brand I tried.

Taste is great, price is awesome, add the fact that I haven't found good sausage here in the south and this one is a keeper and reorder able.

Bought this set for my Dad for Father's Day. He loved it! Generously-sized logs came packaged in a sturdy box ready for giftwrapping. The only complaint was while tasty, the jalapeño and cheese was very light on "bite" - had jalapeño flecks but no hotness. Otherwise gift was very much enjoyed.12/22/2024: Edited to add my Dad liked this gift set so much he requested for this Christmas, too! He doesn't ask for much, ever, so you betcha I ordered. Arrived in excellent condition and had an expiration date well into 2025, so it is wrapped and waiting under the tree. Added photos above and changed rating from 4 to 5 stars.

I got the Old Wisconsin brand of summer sausage from Amazon yesterday and the Johnsonville today to do a comparison. The Johnsonville is tough, dry, salty and difficult to eat. The Old Wisconsin is much moister, soft, fresh with a great flavor and texture. The only problem with the Old Wisconsin is that I found tiny pieces of bone that had been ground up with the meat. Honestly though, the Johnsonville is so dry I probably wouldn’t notice any bone fragments. I hope this is helpful.

I really like this brand of sausage, it's the best I've found. This sausage is hard and the meat is tightly packed, it does not contain a lot of fat so it is not soft and squishy like other brands. This is a good solid chunk of sausage!
