Hits the Sweet-spot of Usability and Portability For Traveling Work Monitor
I travel a lot for both work and personal reasons, so a pair of 15.6 inch portable monitors have become an essential part of my gear. They are light, thin, and easy to pack and go. Although they’re perfect for traveling, I sometimes wish there was a slightly larger option, especially for coding or video editing.Upperizon recently introduced an 18.5 inch portable monitor which I decided to try. Long story short, it hits the sweet spot of portability and usability. I’ll list those points as pros and cons as it applies to my specific usage profile. For reference, my daily driver platforms are MacOS (14 inch MBP M2), iPadOS (12.9 inch M2 iPad Pro), and Linux server and desktop (Ubuntu 22.04 LTS).Pros:Usability:- Very thin and light-weight- Bright display- Fully adjustable controls controls for color, refresh, brightness and volume- 100 MHz refresh rate - suitable for light gaming- High Dynamic Range (HDR) - This is really impressive!- Built-in speaker- Auxiliary Audio connection- Powers device through the monitor- Detailed instruction manual covering popular devices- Built-in adjustable stand for landscape display- Landscape or portrait orientation Portability:- Included padded protective carrying case- All cables and 30 watt power adapter included- Fits perfectly inside standard roller boardCons: (No show-stoppers, though)- Dimensions are too long to fit into the average backpack (fits in a large mouth backpack like a Chrome roll top backpack)- Side control buttons are a bit too recessed and hard to access, especially if you have long fingernails- Built-in audio:- Not very loud at all, which is honestly expected, given the dimensions of the monitor. It’s good if it’s the only option available, like a RaspberryPi for example.- Auxiliary port located on the recessed edge is too close to the back of the monitor and some plugs with thick bodies might not fit.- Sound output from the auxiliary port is good if you’re connecting it to a powered external speaker like a JBL Flip or Anker portable speaker, or headphones.Other observations and honorable mentions:- YouTube and Netflix videos display in full-screen mode with no problem- 75 mm VESA mounting holes (75 mm square) on back base- Two USB-C (power and video) and one full-size HDMI port- Light Gaming: On iPadPro if used in Extend mode, there is a slight delay in fast action- Works best if HDR is on AND the display is in Mirror Mode- In Mirror-mode, gaming is identical in response to the iPadPro display- Rotation works fine with MacBook Pro- iPadPro on some docking stations may not support rotation, but works if directly connected to the monitor via USB-CUser Experience:- It’s light enough to take it to the office, library, coffee shop, etc. in its included padded case- The display is large enough for just about any task such as internet research, light video editing, programming, or watching Netflix and YouTube videos- Since it fits perfectly in a standard roller-board you could easily take this as carry-on luggage for air travel, and use while on long layovers.- Although the included carrying case has a zippered compartment, I would shy away from putting anything in there that might cause stress on the screen.

Great Monitor.
I bought this as a second monitor for my laptop. 2 monitors makes many things much easier. The packaging was my first indication of quality. Neat, compact and properly protected. Someone gave this some serious thought. Two USB cables and an HDMI were included, along with a power adapter. The carrying case has a nice look to it.The set up was ease and only took a minute to complete. The kickstand is firm enough to support any monitor position, yet easy to manuver. The cable hookups completely plug and play. I was impressed with the simplicity and speed. The color difference in the photo is mostly due to the camera, side by side the colors are almost identical.I was happy for all of this to work out without a hitch.I certainly recommend this monitor.

Awesome monitor!
These monitors are great! Nice and thin. Comes with good quality cables. When I am not at my desk using my docking station, I use it with my laptop as the primary monitor as the resolution and brightness is much better than my Toughbook FZ55 monitor. I use this with a single USB-C cable (Included). It doesn't require a power supply when I use it like this. Has a flip out stand that lets you slide it over the laptop screen. It also works great as a second monitor.I also use it my DJI Agras T50 drone controller to be able to map out flight paths better. With this I use the HDMI (included) cable along with a USB-C charging cable (also included).

Highly recommend!
Very highly recommend! This monitor is great, it’s a nice clear picture with a stable base. It was packaged very well, with all the necessary wires, and even has a protective padded carrying case. Also, the customer service was superb! I was having difficulty hooking up my monitor to my MacBook Pro at 9 pm EST, a very knowledgeable rep answered the right away and was able to assist me to get it working properly. Very hard to find great customer service these days!

Swapped all my travel monitors to this
I LOVE the new 18.5 portables and have swapped out all of my portable screens to them. Not only is the size unrivaled, the hard stand is much better than the floppy soft cover stands other brands try to use. They use a REAL full sized HDMI input instead of the weird Mini HDMI other portable screens use, so it makes setting up much easier.10/10, would buy another

Great Customer Service
I normally do not write reviews but I love this screen. The resolution and plug and play ease of use is great. However, today, my screen suddenly stopped working! I called the help desk number, left a message and within about 30 minutes, they called back, we walked through the issues, and it is working again. I was really impressed with the kindness and level of customer service. In case your screen ever stops working, try plugging both the usb c and the hdmi cables into the laptop and screen. Both of the cords are included in the purchase. It is a great product and really makes working from home much easier.

Good value purchase
Works as expected. Nice built and good quality. An ideal item for traveling and working. Sound quality can improve a bit but that doesn't bother me too much. Good value for the money.

Great portable monitors for traveling or home use!
This is my first time writing a review because I am so satisfied with my purchase! I bought 2 of these monitors (18.5"). They are perfect for traveling as they are light and thin. Set up was super easy - just plug it in, connect it to your port(s) and you're done! The monitors come with a padded case which protects the monitors while traveling. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone looking for good quality monitors - not just for travel, but also for home set up.
