Note the most straightforward process
This item arrived quickly. Not the easiest of operations to link the new receiver to the pointer but eventually it worked. Linking process doesn't seem to work with Windows 8.1 although once linked works with another OS works fine. ALSO note it's possible to buy one for £10 from the Logitech site !

Does what it says on the tin
This is exactly what I expected. More surprising, however, is the fact that you can't pair this USB plug using any Apple computers. You MUST have a PC for pairing with your presentation remote, or it won't work.

Replacement receiver simply did not work
As a lecturer it is quite easy to leave the receiver behind in the USB port of the lecture theatre and then return and found it is not there. The R400 presenter is good and had been working well. It is quite convenient to be able to just replace the receiver and no the whole presenter. Unfortunately the presenter no longer works with the replacement receiver.
