Knocked over a floor lamp and busted the socket. These worked perfectly to replace the broken one. And I have 2 spares for when i do it again.

Goo replacement wish that the wire connection was better designed.

I ordered these sockets to repair a floor lamp that I was converting to use in my shop. The sockets are easy to install, just insert the switch through the mounting hole of your lamp and tighten the nut. Be careful with the nut, the threads are a bit coarse and I almost cross-threaded the socket on my first attempt to install it.I was surprised that there was no protective cover for the wiring screws. Admittedly, the screws should be concealed within your lamp but with mine, they were uncomfortably close to the metal lamp shade. I prefer to tin my stranded-wire lamp cord with solder so I opted to cover the terminals with electrician’s tape to ensure there was no chance of a voltage arc or short.The product description could be improved. To accommodate a more global market, provide dual dimensioning since not everyone uses the metric system. Also, provide a dimension for the threaded section of the socket. Unfortunately, the socket was too short for one of my lamp repairs but I could not determine that from the existing product information before placing my order.
