My daughter loves the show stopping embellishments on professional cakes, but I love the taste of homemade. I’m an artist, so I figured I could learn to decorate with frosting, but I quickly realized that there were a lot of tools to buy. All the online tutorials showed bakers spinning their cakes effortlessly on turntables, and I knew I would be glad to have one. While there are many to choose from, those with the best reviews were a bit pricey. I mean, I’m an amateur baking for a 7 year old. Gimme a break. Enter Cakes of Eden Cake Turntable. The price was right, the reviews were positive. I clicked. The turntable arrived in a sturdy box that I can now reuse to store it. It also came with an offset spatula, an essential I already own but don’t mind an extra, and, drumroll, a cake board: an item I had not considered using but in retrospect I could not have done without.The turntable seemed a little lightweight at first, but it performed flawlessly and was completely stable. My cake was 9” with four 1” layers of cake. Filled and decorated it’s surprisingly heavy. The turntable spun like a dream, no hitching or wobbling. In fact, it spins so easily that the force of frosting coming out of a large tip is enough to push the cake, allowing you to pipe consistently around the edge of the cake while holding the bag completely still. Need the cake to stay put? Just click the locking mechanism, which is easy to find by touch on the side of the base without having to take your eyes off your work. I am thoroughly pleased with this turntable. Thank you, Cakes of Eden.

Update: I’ve moved this product from 3 stars to 5 stars. I’ve used it occasionally for a few years now and it has worked well for me. The table itself is a thinner plastic than the Wilton, but it doesn’t wobble, which allows me to smooth out the buttercream easily on my cakes. As a turntable, it’s great. I don’t use it to display my cakes, but that’s not its purpose, so I won’t dock a star for that. I stand corrected from my original review. It’s a great product.Unfortunately, I don’t love it. I bought this turntable over the Wilton because of the lifetime warranty, the excellent reviews and the few extra decorating accessories you get for the price, but the product itself is a bit lacking for me. The flat plastic disc where you place your cake is made of a thinner plastic that’s bendy and not thick and solid. After seeing the Wilton high and low turntable in my local store, I opened it up to check the quality, and the disc is made of a very solid, thick plastic that doesn’t bend, has a non-slip surface, and is very attractive for displaying cakes. The Wilton is the same price as this table. I wish the ForeverSmooth had a non-skid surface rather than the grid (what’s the point of the grid?), since the grid shows and makes it less attractive to display your cakes. I’ve used the ForeverSmooth a few times and it does the job. Overall, it’s fine even though the quality wasn’t what I expected.

For the price tag, I wasn't expecting much from this. I just needed a cake leveller and a turntable. But when I opened the box, I was pleasantly surprised! I don't get what some of the other reviews here are talking about--everything in this box was great quality! The turntable was just perfect, exactly what I needed. It spins very smoothly. It also has a stop mechanism that makes it stay still. While the turntable was great, it was all the additional things in the package that really sent this above and beyond. I made my niece a birthday cake for the first time, and it was my first time really decorating a cake (I usually roll with cupcakes). As such, I don't have a lot of cake decorating supplies, only cupcake decorating supplies. This kit filled out my tool cabinet so nicely! Piping tips aside, it had everything I needed to efficiently decorate a cake *well*. I anticipate getting a lot of mileage out of this nice kit.

The media could not be loaded. Made a 3 layer cake first time, since I was going all out I decided to buy a turntable to get a good and smooth frosting on the cake . I read plastic turntables are not worth it. But as a beginner and for occasional cake making I did not wanted to spend a lot on a turntable. This one turned out exceptional. Its well made and extremely sturdy. My cake was 3 layer 8 inch cake and it holded it very well. Nor my cake slipped. I did recieved 2 design combs instead of one but they both were scratched and not packed in a separate plastic pouch. I did not recieved a leveler, which I was hoping I would get. But I dont mind it much. As I purchased this item specially for turntable and spatula and both are very good quality. I am sure they will last me years. The height is low but my counter is sufficient height so it didnt bothered me much. If you need a good height it might not be useful for you.on the other hand, IF you like to make tall cakes then I think this has a perfect height so that you can decorate the top of your cakes.

I was looking for a spinner to use for my classes. The first I ordered was supposed to be all metal but was actually painted plastic. The second went astray and was refunded. The third was the same only actually delivered. It was all metal and sturdy but did not specify n smoothly. Finally I got this one based on articles about spinners that work well. Finally I have one that works! No slip base keeps it steady and the spin is smooth. I recommend it for any spinner need

I am SOOO glad that I invested in this cake turntable. First, one must know I am a new baker (MAYBE you can tell by the cake itself :) so I didn't have all of a baker's tools. So I started off with purchasing this turntable which included an icing spatula. I also got an icing tube set separately and the only reason why I mention it is because this turntable helped me to use it to decorate my grandson's chocolate cake much easier. The company's description of the turntable bragged that it's quiet and this is true. It's quiet and very smooth when I turn it. The lock mechanism is genius and I appreciate that option. Overall, I can't live without this when baking cakes from now on, it just made my new hobby even better.
