Great - for 18 months.
I've got an orange themed kitchen, and when I saw an orange can opener, it was a bit of a no-brainer. I loved it - it has really comfortable rubbery padding on the handles and the screw mechanism which makes it really comfortable to hold. I had no trouble opening cans of all sizes, from little tuna cans to giant cans of mango pulp. The cogs were sturdy and didn't jam. It cleaned well, and didn't let me down. However, 18 months on, I've waved goodbye to it. The spindle connecting the orange screw handle to the cogs didn't seem to connect any more. It would clip on to the side of cans still, and puncture a hole in, ready for the cutting cog to do its thing, but turning the handle did nothing. Hubby had a look at it and said that the mechanism had failed.I'm so disappointed - this is a really good can opener, but it just wasn't built to last.

Best can opener I have ever used
This is hands down the best can opener I have ever used. Reviews here seemed to state that but I take reviews with a grain of salt :)So not only was I pleased with this can opener's elegant design but somewhat astonished honestly at how well it works. In a lifetime of using can openers, I had no idea someone had actually achieved designing one to work so seamlessly... I did not think it had worked the first time I used it because I felt no resistance! "Easy peasy."

The can opener felt very sturdy unlike others I've had in the past on using it for the first time the small top of the cutter fell off I have stuck it back on, I am very disappointed with this item as the reviews were very good.

Does the job
It is heavy and feels reassuringly robust. Must have opened 100 tins of various kinds by now with no sign of blunting. If it carries on, I'll upgrade to 5 stars. I keep expecting it not to cut - sometimes the cut seems too shallow to reach in and reliably cut through the metal. So why not 5 stars now? Well, the disc that is cut out is very sharp - perhaps inevitable. But as you cut, it falls into the tin on top of your food. It's difficult to hook it out. I've found the best way to avoid this is as follows: just before you complete the cut, it tends to twist slightly and rise up - so you get a chance to grap it. But as I say, it's sharp - so take care!Very minor gripes, I'm sure others would have given it 5* based on my experience...

sturdy and easy to use
sturdy and easy to use, these work like they should and have a 10 year guarantee - hard to go wrong, just don't pinch your flesh when squeezing the handles

I Dislike It
I'm afraid this can opener is not for me. It's ridiculously heavy, I dislike the colour (there wasn't a choice), and I find it awkward to work. Turning this horizontal doesn't work for me, as it's then 'juddery' and rather difficult to cut through the can that way. So I stick to using it the old fashioned 'vertical' way, and the lid falls into the contents every single time. I think the product is expensive for what it is, my last opener was a doddle.
