Q: I have a canon sx60hs and i can't get the split rings attached. has anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it?

Sorry don't have Cannon but they fit my Olympus and Panosonic Lumix ok

On both the Z50 & 850 I have the connecter on the base of the camera when using 70-200mm lens, haven’t tried it with my 200-500 (it may be to heavy)
