In my opinion I would say they are water resistant. I believe they are treated leather. I wore them in many rain showers with no problems. Especially when new, the water just rolled off of them. Maybe an occasional waterproofing treatment or mink oil would keep them lasting as long as possible. Would I stand in streams in them or wear them on a fishing boat? No. I think it would dry the leather out quickly

Q: Do the soles disintegrate on these like other similar PU soled shoes?

The outsole is made of polyethylene and it does need to breathe. If it is kept on a box or plastic tote for a long period time it is unsure what could happen. We do have a two year manufacturer warranty
