The perfect camping/ home lantern for flashlight nerds
I couldn't ask for more from this lantern, but unless you know what a Nichia 519a is or the benefits of a 21700 over an 18650 then get ready to jump down a rabbit hole that is potentially deeper than what you want to go.This lantern puts out great light, cycling through rosy, warm tint through to the semi-cool white- stopping anywhere you'd like between. There are three sets of emitters (lights) within the lantern and you can use them and mix them to your pleasure. Red, Warm, and Semi-cool.Battery life is great, form factor couldn't be more spot-on, it seems tough as nails, the lowest setting with the red emitters is 1 lumen, unlike the non-pro version where red at any level is too bright. It'll put out light in any pattern, power, and effect that you could think to want (SOS, bike strobe, Candlelight, Lightning Storm, Beacon, etc., etc.)However, unless you read through and can somewhat understand ToyKeeper's TEXT version of Anduril 2.0 at toy keeper dot net, this lantern might be more complicated than you need or want. The included flowchart for the UI and any you'll find online today for Anduril 2 are outdated and do not line up with this light's UI. Biggest updates that pertain to this light are that when you 3C from on, it cycles through the emitter mixes, and you can tint shift using a few of these mixes using 3H. Switching from smooth to stepped ramping has been swapped to 6C now. Again, if this is French to you, you can probably still figure it all out after some YouTube tutorials or simply playing around with it, but I'm aware many people don't want to make flashlight UI a hobby. If you're familiar with Anduril 2, this lantern is so much fun. I'm so glad that they mixed the red into the cycles at low levels, it's sweet to read to the rosy, warm tint this thing puts out. Candle mode is too cool and the red emitters are so much more useful now than on the regular LT1s.For sure worth the added expense over the original ONLY if you know/ understand/ want to learn Anduril. If not, the regular LT1s is fantastic as well with a little less complexity.
