Tempt Our Fate: Alternate Version

Kat Singleton once again you have written another beautiful book that had me giggling, blushing and crying (both happy and heartbreaking tears), I didn't want this book to end. This book had fantastic banter, spicy tension and so many beautiful moments between Pippa and Camden. I'm a sucker for a good trope and this book was packed to the brim with them. Small town, enemies-to-lovers, grumpy/sunshine, billionaire, all fabulous tropes put together to create a perfect romance. Pippa is a sassy spitfire, that knows what she wants and doesn't let anyone bring her down. She is definitely a badass female that is the perfect match to go toe to toe with Camden. She also has a soft and vulnerable side that she keeps hidden that she slowly starts to show because of the suppprt Camden gives her and together they both help the other heal from things in there pasts. Camden is a combination of gaurded grump, with a hidden cinnamon roll center and a heart of gold. Plus that man has the dirty talk down to perfection, I promise the spice in this book does not disappoint. His first couple of meeting with Pippa don't go smoothly at all which leads up to the enemies part of our tropes, but the more time he spends with her he starts to open up and his walls around his heart start to fall and he starts to see just how nice it is to have someone be thier for him. Which leads to the always fun lovers part of the trope. I think one of my favorite parts of the book was when Pippa is feeling sick and he comes over to take care of her. It really showed the growth his character had made and just how much each of them had become comfortable with being vulnerable with one another. This book was great from start to finish. Lots of funny banter with fabulous spice, sweet and heartfelt moments and moments that will have you crying. You will definitely feel all the emotions but it's all worth it to get to that HEA.

When I say that this book is one of my top reads of the year…I ABSOLUTELY mean it. KAT FREAKING SINGLETON you have done it AGAIN. I think I felt every emotion under the sun in this book in the BEST way. I’d sell my SOUL to be Camden Hunters good girl. Like no questions asked. Good freaking LORD. The way he falls soooo dang hard for Pippa and how he becomes a cinnamon roll just for her is just ✨chefs kiss✨. His past of not knowing how to be loved and then HIS GRANDMOTHER oh my word like how can you not fall in love with him. He neeeever stops showing Pippa how much he cares and I just….he’s goals. AND THEN OUR GIRL PIPPA. “I n d e p e n d e n t do you know what that mean” but in the best way. She has spent so long taking care of everyone and doesn’t know how to be taken care of and DOES HE TAKE CARE OF HER 🥵 the angst and the tension and when it finally SNAPS YES MAAAAM. She loves her town and loves so fiercely I just resonate with her on so many levels. I truly don’t think this book could have any more of a chokehold on me. This is my Roman Empire.

I wasn't prepared for how much I'd love this one. I'm trash for enemies to lovers, but I couldn't see how Camden and Pippa would outdo Cade and Mare for me. But they did. Every second of the tension-fueled enemies to lovers moments, right to the second everything switched for them. The tender way Camden loved Pippa, and the way she taught him HOW to love. UGH I LOVE THEM.

“Pippa Jennings--the woman I yelled at the moment we met is stealing pieces of my cold, black heart. She's breathing life back into it, and I don't have it in me to fight, even when I know it can't end well.” Camden and Pippa go from hot and heated enemies to hot and heated lovers! This book is so different than book one (no cowboy) BUT the elevated banter was so enjoying, and we get a lot more small town vibes! These two are a perfect grumpy/ sunshine, and while the switch from enemies to lovers was much faster than I expected, I still enjoyed it. I also LOVED that we got to see Cade (& Goldie), but also Beck & Margo! "I didn't know love until I knew you. And I'm trying to figure it out because I want to do better - be better for you. But I can't do that if you won't let me. There's nothing I can say if you want to give up the second things get hard. But I do love you. I love you in a way that consumes me. You're my every thought, every dream, my entire being. I love you so much that it f—king hurts you think I wouldn't do anything, give up anything, to make us work.

Everything about this book made me happy. The love between Camden a Pippa is top tier! Being able to relate to characters in books makes them much more important to me and I related to Pippa in a big way. I know the feeling of your mom dying and that leaving the biggest hole in your heart. But the way Pippa get going showed so much strength that, it’s someone I look up to! And oh my damn the mouth that Camden has on him, did me in from the VERY BEGINNING. I would crawl for that man!

Camden & Pippa are the definition of enemies to lovers. The dislike each other with a fiery passion... Which quickly turns into more fiery passion. Pippa does not take any kind of sass from Camden and Camden likes to test her. They way they are each others person is heart melting. Kat Singleton knows how to tell a story that makes you laugh, swoon, shiver and cry!

This book had me so sucked in I devoured it in a day. I love everything about Peppa. Her character shines in every book she’s been in. Camden on the other hand has always been a gray cloud and I love that these two have appeared in multiple other books and finally get their own story. It’s a very grumpy meets sunshine healing wounds, teaching how to love kind of story and it’s just perfection.

This is the second book in the Sutten Mountain series, and at this point, I honestly don’t know how Kat Singleton can continuously top herself, but it happens every single time! I cried when I got the early copy, and I truly loved every second of this one! Camden and Pippa’s story was just so beautiful! I had a personal investment in this one since Camden’s past made me relive a past relationship, and even though mine did not work, Kat handled this in such a way that it was impossible not to root for them and be happy with the way everything happened! Camden is the definition of the perfect book boyfriend. His background and how he evolves and treats Pippa make you fall in love with him harder and harder. He will definitely make you melt at some point, and the things he says are just perfect! Pippa is strong and beautiful, and the way her mom is displayed throughout the story makes you feel the love they had for each other. You can see that she cares about Sutten and everyone in town, which is so endearing. Enemies to lovers is an amazing trope, and Kat did a great job with the banter and push & pull on this one. This was funny, sweet, swoony, and spicy. I couldn't get enough of it. I truly fell in love with this couple and this book, and I recommend it to everyone, especially if you enjoy small-town romances. This felt like a hug in the best way possible! That is coming from someone who continues to think about Beck Sinclair on a regular basis even though I read Black Ties & White Lies back in February… TOF gave us some really amazing vulnerable moments. Camden talking about this childhood that severely lacked love, while Pippa shared about her childhood full of love but the grief of losing a caring parent. I absolutely adored how Camden hung on Pippa's every word when talking about her mom and how he went out of his way to make sure Pippa felt like her mom was still with them. The way Camden was so fussy over his grandmother was the most endearing thing and seeing how by embracing his vulnerability he became the most swoon-worthy man. His character growth was fantastic. Pippa is a strong woman who is trying to stand in her moms shoes by being the backbone and support for her family while her dad and brother grieve. She loves and cares for her community enough to shove it down the new city guys throat until he gets what love and community are about. As always, Kat gives us some excellent spice, swoon worthy moments and a top-tier book boyfriend to add to our collections.
