Tastes like salt, no real black licorice taste
Wow! I like a bit of salt but these have an overload of salt. That is all I could taste, salt! I tried them several times and threw them away

Salty and but delicious
They hit you immediately with a strong salt taste, but it mellows out and they are pretty good. The aftertaste is a bit weird to me personally. But this is my first time having this type of licorice so I don’t know if that’s the product itself or a product of double salted licorice in general and it won’t stop me from consuming the whole bag. They are harder to chew, but not difficult and I quite like how long they last. I got another type so I’ll have to compare and report back if I feel any differently after trying another.

VERY salty!
If like very salty licorice, you'll love these! I've eaten salty licorice before, but never had any THIS salty! Not too sure if I'll buy this product again. My oldest son loved them though!

Good Salty Dutch Licorice
I grew up as a Dutch Indo on my father’s side of the family. This meant growing up eating salty Dutch licorice. It is definitely an acquired taste. It is certainly not for everyone. The Danish, Swedish, Germans, and the Dutch all have different types of salty licorice but essentially generally they all taste about the same. If you’re someone who likes black licorice, but isn’t accustomed to the saltiness of this type of licorice I would say stay away. For those reviews that say the licorice is salty…they are absolutely right it is. It is also not a mistake that it tastes the way it does. The wording under the brand name Venco, “Dubbel Zout,” literately means “double salt.” Let this review stand as a warning for anyone who is simply looking for an American black licorice. This is NOT the licorice you are looking for. For everyone else this is a really good Dutch licorice and I liked eating it a lot. It is more expensive than other places but getting it in two days is pretty nice so I overlook the price.
