Much cheaper than redoing my pipes!
I purchased a townhome in November 2024 and immediately had pipe issues. Washing machine flooded into my half bath after emptying the wash barrel. Toilets backed up on another occasion. Sink backed up. Master bathroom tub would not drain. Black sludge came out of the master bathtub faucet. It was a mess and a very emotional since I had spent two months trying to obtain the property. I had buyer's remorse.I got 2 quotes from 2 companies stating I needed to do a complete pipe re-do. No lie... one was $15,600 and the other was $8,400. This did not include the new title I would have to get after they tore up my current tile. This did not include the moving out expense. This did not include the clean up. AND, these were only QUOTES. They were literally going to tunnel under my home to repair all the pipes. My boyfriend suggested I buy this camera and he would do his investigation. It is now May 2025. I do have to give credit to the first company. They used their "snake" to clear whatever was blocking the water flow. We check the pipes with the camera every month. NOTHING IS WRONG WITH MY PIPES! The view on the screen is crystal clear, the hose is easy to maneuver through the pipes, and the hose coils back for easy storage.I hope this review helps anyone who might have been told they need a full tunneling. Spend the money for this first and then go from there.

Excellent response and help
After using the camera for a short while it stopped working with a blue screen appearing. It is now working. Excellent help from the supplier.

Worked better than expected
I was having serious mainline clog situations and wanted to use this to determine where the clog actually existed. I couldn’t get the camera to follow the main line through the cleanout at the far end of the house without coming up into one of the toilets. So I went to the other end of the house, and pulled the toilet from there and ran the camera down the piping all the way to the cleanout. What I was able to determine was the cast iron piping had so much rust and debris buildup, that a roto-rooter device or a water-jet device was going to be needed. I ordered a water jet from Amazon, and after completing a sewer jetting operation, I ran the camera again and found the piping to be a lot cleaner.Plumbers around here charge $600 to run a camera down the piping, and another $450 for root-rooting, and $450-$600 for sewer jetting. I paid $300 for this camera and another $50 for a sewer jetting system that connects to my pressure washer. They have already paid for themselves several times over and will be available for future use.The reason for only 4 stars is that the camera’s cable is not stiff enough to make more than one or two bends in a 4” pipe (I had three 90° bends) without hanging up in the piping. Otherwise, I’m very happy with this camera system.

It could use a little stiffer cable and with measurement marks on the cable.
Get use to water running across the top and horizontally across the sides of pipes and you'll be fine. The stills are helpful. The video is very helpful as you can review spots. The rings protect the camera but can restrict passage in some cases. The small cable won't push the camera around a 90 degree elbow on a 4" pipe if the elbow is beyond about 15 feet as the cable starts wrapping around the inside of the pipe if the camera is stopped by any obstruction. Perhaps if the cable is joined by taping a stronger snake to it at that point and using the stiffer snake to shove the camera and cable. The light doesn't change the picture much in the pipe and it only shows a few inches in a black pipe. I haven't tried it on smaller than a 4 inch pipe but for the price it sure is better than trying to stick your head in to see what's going on. If you think your going to have to trace the route of the pipe invest is the one with the additional tracker. Hope that helps you.

Stay away from this junk
I would not buy this item. I used it on maybe three or four jobs and then it stopped working. I try to charge it. It came back on then the battery light would go from full to Red back to full. The buttons were being finicky, it's just not a quality camera. It's a great price point but it's probably for one or two time use as other reviewers have said the value for the money is not there
