Can be done via your GP, if you can get an appointment! Found paying for this home to lab kit more convenient & easy than the GP route.Slight issue re time input during sample registration. Doesn't accept a time which is close to current/actual time ie the real time??

It’s very easy to use, simple blood test, post it, 2 days later you get your psa results.Mine came back slightly elevated, had MRI and biopsies, found cancer early so hopefully easily sorted.Men - better know than not know.

Professional packaging and fast turn around. I would recommend watching YouTube videos to get a good understanding for how to extract your blood. Once you get the technique right it’s very easy to fill up but if you find yourself struggling then you should double check some tutorials.Personally, after following the process I am able to massage my blood out by pulling down from the knuckle to the finger tip.Very quick turn around with the results. Make sure to find a postbox that will pick up later in the day and best to do it on a Monday-Wednesday to end the next day delivery. Do the extraction as late in the day as possible and drop off into the postbox near to the pickup time. Doing this ensures the freshest sample and it will be at the lab the next day. Results were fast.

I received the PSA test kit in good time, followed the instructions which was fairly easy to follow plus there were online videos to help you understand the process. The blood sample was posted on Monday before 12, the result was in my inbox by the early hours of Wednesday morning. The report exceeded my expectations and was comprehensive which included Total PSA and Free PSA which are important figures to work out the Free/Total ratio indicator. In conclusion it is very competitively priced with excellent service.

We bought this kit to test my husband’s PSA as it had never been done. Everything required was in the kit with multiple items such as finger prickers and plasters. The instructions were clear and the test was easy to complete.For the price of the kit inside, testing and postage it is incredible. You really can’t go wrong. I thoroughly recommend.

As a old oap to many instructions don’t waste your time save money and go to your doctors

Don't eat for 4 hours. drink lots before doing test. But best bit is put your hand in warm water then wave your arm around. to be honest too much for my husband to be bothered with. That's before opening an account on line then posting etc... Will need to purchase a much more immediate result

This is in fact a blood taking kit and is not for the faint hearted or trypanophobic. Randox do the actual blood testing. Check out the video given in a link in the instructions as this helps but, despite following them carefully, I had to use a second finger before I got enough blood in the sample tube even though I have good peripheral blood supply and bleed easily (the young woman in the video looked to struggle too!). The instructions are quite good though and the process fairly straightforward. You need to register your details before they will analyse the sample, but on checking the “Privacy Policy” the link went to “404: page not found” so I’m not exactly sure what privacy rights I have! I also had a problem with registering but the on line “chat” confirmed it went through ok. I would recommend communicating this way if you need help; the response was very quick. The laboratory report came back in 2 days and clearly showed the result as well as a representation of it on a slider. There was also a small amount of advice and information with it.However, if you are thinking of using this you should first ask the question “why am I doing this?” If the answer is “I want to check I’m OK” or “I have some symptoms” or “I’m concerned about something” then you really should see your GP. You should also ask yourself “What will I do if the result is abnormal”. If the answer is “see a doctor” then save time and worry and do that. I really don’t think whatever result you get from this will allay any fears you may have or give you the reassurance a doctor will. I was confident my result was normal, but even so I felt anxious opening up the report!I don’t think there is enough information in the pack insert about the pit falls of this test. PSA can be increased artificially by a number of activities people do and have done to themselves and interpretation of a single result can be difficult. It can also indicate other medical issues, not just prostate cancer. Medical support and follow up is very important.I am strongly in favour of PSA screening and I can understand why men may want to perform this test, but they need support before doing it and later for the result, whether normal or abnormal. TBF, the report has a link to book an appointment with a private GP (for a fee) but IMHO, they are better getting a test (free in UK) from their doctor and talk things through with them. If you live somewhere else, this could be a first step in the right direction, but getting support and seeing a doctor is the real way forward.
