These are a very good quality metal. I installed them on my rafters of the deck roof. I installed them backwards too! And I am not taking them off to flip them!!!! Bc they are THAT strong.

These worked out great! If anyone wants hurricane ties that actually allow you to connect top plates or bottom plates together, easily and without need to drill any new holes, this is it! Most of the new hurricane ties on the market today, as I have seen, come with staggered holes now, no longer one on top of the other holes, as the older style ties, like this one does. If you have an old style home, with single board top plates and wish to secure overhead beams with hurricane ties, these are your only option available. Staggered hole hurricane ties, don't have 3 holes in row, that can catch that single beam top plate, like these hurricane ties do. You are lucky with staggered hole hurricane ties, to even grab 2 of the holes on the hurricane tie, to even secure to the top plate, since the top holes on the other hurricane ties don't have holes lined up, in a row like these do. I brought these hurricane ties into my local home store, and hardware store to show them my delimma, and they scratched their heads, and asked.."why would they change from this type of design, that works". I even contacted the company that makes the newer ones, with staggered holes, with my complaint and they told me they would be looking into the new design issue. Again, buy THESE style hurricane plates, you won't be disappointed!
