I love this book, very helpful

This book's pictures are so beautiful! It's why I bought the book. However, it is very small. The detailed portraits are small and the corresponding half-finished student working page too small to complete. It's almost like an adult coloring book but too small to do anything except cramp your hand. Sharpen your pencil if you plan on trying to complete the pictures. You will need your finest pencil point to follow details. Work pages are washed out and the next page shows through. You'll need even sharper eyesight. The only tutorial is summed up: darken the darkest areas first; put mid-tones in; finish with highlights and blacks. Instruction is limited to barely a page and one-half of the most basic information imaginable. I'm a beginner/immediate artist in drawing. I stopped doing the first page to write this review after realizing the only way this book is any use would be to enlarge the pictures. I don't have a scanner, so I think copyright laws will prevent this possible method at a professional printer. Too expensive to be of use other than a picture book. I don't recommend it to serious artist.

I love the idea of the book and the drawings are fantastic. But it is printed on regular, thin, semi-gloss paper (about 20lb). The print from the next page shines through. I had to use an 8B pencil to get a darkness I normally get from a 2B pencil. And you get only a few strokes per space and the tooth of the paper is full, won't accept anymore graphite.Get this book published/printed on 70lb drawing paper and I would buy a few more. But as is, everyone: save your money.

If you read the sample you’ve read the book. Everything else is a sample photograph and and a corresponding practice image. There is virtually no instruction provided.

There’s a reason people are saying there’s no tutorials to follow, and that these aren’t for beginners. That’s because they’re not based on real art. They are ai generated cash grabs designed to make a quick buck. There’s no lessons here - just ai art disguised as a learning tool. Don’t get scammed.

This book and everything else this seller makes is not real art. It’s ai imagery generated with an algorithm, aka generative ai which was trained off the hard work of real artists. The original artists don’t profit, nor did they give permission to power and train the Ai program that illegally used their work. Nobody should ever be practicing off of ai images and this book has no instruction or educational material. It’s literally a picture book. Grifting at its finest.
