Son loves it
This review is from my sons (12yr) point of view as it is a game played by him. Easy to understand, exciting and lots of missions to work through. Seems he likes it!

Frustrating flying!
I loved the PS2 Ace Combat games so was looking for similar arcade style fun for the old Wii. This is a weak imitation. I could forgive the poor graphics if the flying around and blowing stuff up was entertaining. I found the initially quite intuitive controls to be far too sensitive and fiddly in the end. When near the ground it is far too easy to crash and have to restart from a thankfully quite regular checkpoints. I just wanted a bit of easy fun with wave after wave of planes to shoot down. Sadly, the frustration factors out weigh most of the fun in this old Wii game. Shame really.

You are Mike "Downtown" Hudson...but who cares about that?
Boasting an impressive range of ships to fly, weapons to fire and enemies to blow up - really, need I say more?Well, yes, I suppose, some things should be cleared up. First of all, the controls: what with so many Wii games struggling to get the most out of the Wii remote without being fidgety or gratuitous, I'm happy to note that Heatseeker gets it more-or-less right. You may (as I did) struggle a little to get to grips with steering, but once you do you'll find it handles pretty well. Happily, aiming and firing is a piece of cake. The difficulty curve is spot-on, the enemies come at you in ridiculously large numbers and the feeling of taking out one or all of them is always satisfying.Secondly, the graphics: though not spectacular, the graphics are clear and functional enough for you to forget about them if you, like me, don't actually care that much. There's a very nice impact camera that sometimes, at random, activates itself after you destroy an enemy, giving you a very nice Hollywood-style view of the carnage you just created. If you'd rather not have that interruption while you're playing, or you grow bored of it, it can be turned off and on at the menu.Thirdly, the story: it's ludicrous, over-the-top, comically voice-acted and unimportant in enjoying the game...exactly as it should be, I feel. Cut-scenes are easily skipped and the story is easily ignored, but for what they are (dumb) they're enjoyable.Ultimately, though, I find Heatseeker an entertaining diversion, but very hard to get excited about. If you're into this kind of aerial warfare game, however, add another star to my score and trust me - you will like this game. Sadly, it's just not my cup of tea.

BRILLIANT GREAT FUN!!!
I wasn't expecting this game to be that good as of some of the reviews on other game sites, however, it is terribly underated. The controls are really good once you have got the hang of them. The planes look great and the difference between each one in the handeling is very noticable. The graphics may not be great, but, the the sence of speed that you get is great especially when a plane passes you with metres to spare. I would highly recommend anyone with a wii to buy this game or at least look into it!

Seek and destroy
This Game is very cool.It isn't the most polished Game out there but what is here is great and fun, fun and more fun.Good points:The controls are amazing. You control the plane with the remote and nunchuk. You aim the pointer at when you want to go, and you use the motion controls to pitch and roll. This works very well and is so satisfying. The levels are varied and theres a vast array of planes to use. You can customize your arsenal to suit the objectives of the level which is very useful as certain missions involve air to air combat as well as ground and naval taggets.Bad points:The graphics are pretty basic, its essentially the PS2 version with no effort to improve the visuals with the Wii's hardware. This isn't too bad but it would've got 5 stars if it looked more polished. The difficulty curve is also a bit bad, I flew through the levels until one mission had me stumped for weeks. If you put the effort in with this Game you with have such a wonderful, fun and satisfying challenge.
