A well-made flashlight.
These appear to be very well-made and well-engineered.I guess I'm supposed to add " ... for such an inexpensive flashlight".But I'm not going to say that. It seems well-made, inside and out. Full stop.If you'd handed me one of these in the store, I'd have guessed $15 each, not $3 each (batteries not included). The case is nicely machined aluminum. The end cap/battery access cap screws on and off smoothly. There's a thin o-ring sealing the place where the end cap meets the body. The on-off switch has a durable-looking rubber cover. The focusing setup is so good that, at the tightest beam, the flashlight projects a crisp image of the LED light element when you (e.g.) shine it onto the ceiling.Even the battery carrier is a step up. The metal fittings on it are beefier than I have come to expect from 3-AAA flashlights, and it's held in place by two fully-enclosed spring-loaded broad pines. There's plenty of spring pressure and contact area to maintain electrical contact even if this is taking a beating.Light output? Well, it's not some blinding beast of a flashlight. After all, there's only so much you can do with 3 AAAs. But it's more than adequate as a walking-around flashlight. And with that tigthly-adjustable focus, it makes the most of what it's got.No idea if it'll last. But my initial impression is two thumbs up.

This Is the One You Want
I've had similar flashlights of this type from 5 or 6 different companies over the last 10 years and this one produces the brightest light. If you slide the sleeve forward, it focuses the light for a tight beam that goes a long way. It's a bit shorter and lighter than the others and fits in a pocket better. I like the feature that it will return to the brightest mode after you turn it off and then on again. You don't have to cycle through all the other modes to get back to the brightest, the way most the other brands require. This one supplies a 3-pack of AAA batteries with each light, but I use the larger, single,18650, rechargeable lithium batteries that you can buy from other dealers on this website. A plastic sleeve is furnished that spaces these batteries properly inside the light.I bought a nice charger on this website for a reasonable price that does two 18650 batteries at a time and provides a lighted panel with charging information. I can't imagine going out anywhere without a cellphone and one of these small but potent flashlights.

Bright and functional
Bought for emergency/camping and it works great. It’s bright but not blinding and compact to carry around. The edge on the light feels a bit sharp but so far haven’t had any major issues with it. As for the “zoomable” function I’m not sure what the use is for but you can pull the light head and the light becomes smaller box shape. I think I it’s supposed to concentrate the brightness to a single spot but honestly, I don’t see a significant change in brightness.

Inexpensive, powerful, reliable
I live in the country and snow, wind and rain will usually knock my power out a few times a year. I keep one of these little flashlights in my nightstand and one in kitchen. I like the telescoping and different strengths and also will take it with me at night to walk my dog as there are no sidewalks or street lights and it can be really dark if the moon isn't out. I usually stick to my long driveway and front yard and this is powerful enough to ensure I can see where I'm stepping. It's a very handy size and fits easily in my robe or jeans front pocket. I keep forgetting but I'm going to pick up a couple for my kids to have handy in their apartment and car glove box. Don't let the little size fool you. This flashlight is stronger than many of the larger, bulkier ones I've had in the past that I ended up tossing out.

A modest comparison
I bought a pair of the Moxtoyu flashlights at $8.44, and a pair of GearLight M3s at $18.99. Here’s a comparison:Moxtoyu -Longer and bulkier but lighter, overly large for a pocket, no clipSlightly brighterUses 3 AAA batteries in a somewhat fragile removable holderGearLight -Smaller, fits easily into pockets, has a clip for attaching to clothing, etc.Slightly heavier, but still light - aluminum constructionZooms in tighter (smaller cone of light)Uses 1 AA without a holder (more convenient, less complex)Summary - The GearLight is clearly higher quality, more robust, and simpler in design. Whether it’s worth over twice the price depends on how you intend to use them. I keep the cheaper Moxtoyus around the house, and take a GearLight with me when in the field
