Good quality, good price
Really good price for what it is. It is really good at insulating the outside conditions from the inside. I live in a very humid climate where the relative humidity is higher than what is needed for incubation. This incubator managed to create the perfect humidity for it. I even used a separate thermometer and hygrometer to verify that it was correct and it shows it’s very accurate. Very easy to assemble the instructions are very try clear. The automatic turner works really well. The candler also seems useful. I’ll have to see how many eggs hatch! Out of 12 quail eggs 10 developed and 9 hatched. Not that bad

Thoughtfully made and packaged
I received this incubator last week after much debate over buying it or live chicks. My flock is savage, so no raising babies for them, many failed attempts later. My fertilized eggs have been in the incubator for 3 days. An important detail is that the dome fits very securely, no wiggle once in place. I say this because I started with 10 eggs but added 2 within 24 hours of starting the incubation period. The humidity dropped and did not increase as it did at the initial start up, after a few hours was up past 70%. So I checked the dome and it had some movement, then seated into place correctly. So far, it is working great, temp holding at 100 degrees, humidity now up, and rotates eggs every 2 hours. The unit is easy to use and instructions are understandable. The only thing that would improve this unit is to provide a bit more room for each egg. I have several jumbo eggs, so they are a little crowded. Very nice incubator.

First time egg hatcher!
I purchased this incubator with the intention on hatching my own store purchased fertile eggs (instead of buying chicks) and rasing chickens for the sole purpose of having our own fresh eggs. I actually bought my fertile eggs from a local grocery store, which is crazy lol. (Make sure if you're planning on doing the same, you make sure the eggs are fertile and not the regular everyday store bought eggs) I wanted to go through the whole process of the whole egg experience, which has been an amazing little journey. I have enjoyed every step of this process and am excited that I have 6 more days until hatching day! I started with 10 and now have 3. In no way is that the fault of anyone (me, the incubator etc.) This is just life and what can happen during the incubation process. The incubator keeps at the temperature that you set it, so this part was great. The humidity level was a little more of a challenge for me. I base this on the temperature of my home, the location I have the incubator (my kitchen counter) as well being new to this whole thing. Towards these last days I've finally managed to keep the humidity level within a certain range after some trial and error. The Styrofoam insert (don't throw that way) is definitely a life saver in helping keep the humidity level set at a steady temp for a great portion of the day. At night time, I wrap a towel around it as well since it gets so cold at night. The incubator also has an automatic egg Turner (which you need for most of the 21 days). I've seen some incubators that require you to manually turn them and for being my first time, I wanted it to be one less step I would have to do (or remember to do) The incubator is very easy to use, It is nearly silent and it's definitely great quality for a beginner backyard breeder like me. The incubator itself is not cheaply made and seems to me to be very durable for the purposes of hatching eggs. I have had no issues with this at all. It holds 12 eggs, which I recommend you start with 10-12 as a beginner, I'm glad I did. I will give an update (hopefully as a chick mama) as to how it help up after the chicks hatched inside!

Not bad, functional and relatively cheap
This incubator worked well and had a 100% hatch rate using it my first and only time so far. The only concern I have is that it seems rather flimsy and cheaply constructed compared to brands like Brinsea, so I'm not sure how well it would hold up with continuous usage, but it seems that for at least one hatch it works well. The humidity is hard to regulate, I found that the water would not enter the channels fully from the bottles so I had to manually open the incubator and pour water into the channels daily to get them to fill up. I'm not sure that the humidity gauge on the incubator is accurate, as my backup hygrometer read about ten lower percentage points than the incubator did. The temperature also seemed to fluctuate according to a second thermometer that I had inside, but it never went into the high or low danger zones. You can only set the temperature in one degree increments, so you have to either pick 99F or 100F for example, you can't set it in between at 99.5F. Having to keep the foam box on the outside during incubation to regulate the temperature better makes it seem cheap. The turning function only turns eggs clockwise for the whole duration of incubation, which is not ideal. According to guidelines on the internet for egg turning, they should be alternately turned from side to side, as continuous turning in the same direction can wind the chalazae so much that it breaks, killing the embryo. I manually turned my eggs counterclockwise for quite a few days during early incubation. The fan part isn't the easiest to clean after incubation, a lot of chick fuzz gets trapped inside.

Easy enough for a first timer! Easy to use and directions are easy to follow.
This incubator worked really well for our first time using it. It was easy to set up, easy to adjust the settings, and the directions were easily understandable. We had six hatch successfully. Our four year old was happy to check on the eggs every day to watch their progress. She was EGG-CITED about them turning and just about lost herself in EGG-citement when they started hatching! If you have kids, they're going to love watching this process as it is a huge learning tool and lots of fun to watch the progress. We never had any issues with the heat level or humidity unless our house got cold, and once we realized it needed adjusting, it didn't take long to get it back where it needed to be. I loved being able to see through the whole top, but be very careful once you remove the turner because the eggs will move around once they start hatching and if you're not careful, you could smash one with the protruding mechanism that heats the incubator. We kept it on a desk in our kitchen and it wasn't ugly so I didn't mind having it out to where everyone who came by, could see it. The only issue we had with the incubator, was getting the room dark enough to candle the eggs. The candling light wasn't very bright if there was any light at all on in the house. We had to make the house pitch black in order to see, and when we did it was absolutely amazing to see the little chicks moving around inside! All in all, we are happy with our purchase and look forward to using it again!

A nice incubator!
This is a nice unit. The plastic dome has a bit of weight to it, not heavy, but enough that I'm confident its not going to crack or break with prolonged use. The packaging doubles as insulation in colder environments, and is well molded to use it while the machine is running. Can even change out the water and use controls with it on. Using the machine is very straight forward. Instructions are simple, but the machine itself has brief written steps under every button. The included candling light is a neat feature, and the picture guide on how/when to use it is handy. I tested it out over night on my counter, wanted to know how well it maintained temperature and the power draw. When actively heating it uses about 35 watts of power. When its up to temperature it draws that once or twice a minute for around 5 or 10 seconds or so. It worked well, maintaining temperature to within half a degree in a cold (52) room. Great first impression, I'm looking forward to incubating eggs in the next few weeks from my barred rock hens!

Easy to use. You don’t need an expensive incubater
Very easy to use. Directions are clear. I have hatched 6 healthy little chicks so far. Wonderful to watch the process of egg hatching.

Excellent incubator!
This was an awesome purchase for a beginner. I used this in my classroom and the students loved being able to see the eggs through the clear dome. They would listen for the automatic timer turning the eggs and would get so excited to see the eggs turn. The incubator came with a handy chart to show the developing chicks. Everything worked great, although when we used the light to candle the eggs it was a little difficult to make out what we were seeing. I think this is because the Australorp eggs we used had brown shells. It was very simple to adjust the temperature and humidity. Not having to worry about turning the eggs every few hours was a huge bonus in a busy classroom. It was also easy to clean up after all the hatching was done. We followed the directions exactly and successfully hatched six out of nine chicks! All six are happy and healthy.
