Auto-Focus is horrible... and so is the camera in general
I wrote my original review right after I got the camcorder with the caveat that I didn't have much experience with it. Now that I've used it a few times, I am updating my review. DO NOT waste your money on this camcorder. There is nothing good I can say about it. You would think Minolta could do better than this. The manual focus is no better than the auto focus. It simply does not focus correctly. And if you use telephoto forget it. The resolution is horrible. And the audio is also horrible, even with the boom mic. The audio is very "tinny" sounding, like you're inside a steel drum. My Pixel 7 phone can take much better video than this camera - even when 20x zoom. So I'm going to get a simple external mic for it with a wind screen and I will have a much better solution. I saw another review that referred to it as a toy for kids. I think that is being kind... I'm either going to give this camera away for free or dump it in the recycle. The only thing I will salvage is the 256GB SD card that I bought extra for it. I won't consider selling the camcorder because I couldn't take somebody's money and have a clear conscience... -------------------------------- Disclaimer - this review is written after limited use of the camcorder. So far I like pretty much everything about the camcorder except the auto-focus. Maybe I'm not doing something right, or maybe I'm not holding my mouth right (as the old saying goes). But the auto-focus is horrible. It will go out of focus and STAY out of focus. I intend to primarily use this camcorder on a tripod to record presentations at a museum. I was shocked at the initial tests. I set it up on a tripod and tapped the "camera" button to bring it into focus on a podium about 15 feet away. Then starting recording and stood at the podium, setting up my laptop, etc. You know, normal stuff you would do. When I looked at the recording I was shocked. If I moved backwards or forwards just a little it would go out of focus, and often stay out of focus for quite a while. Then by some miracle it would go back into focus again. I'm going to give it a few more tries and see if I can find a solution. For now my plan is to put it in manual focus mode and hope that it will produce usable results. If not, I'll probably be sending it back.

Not a Night Camera
I bought this for use at night, but the images and video even with the light are fuzzy and poor. Faces, features, backgrounds as far as trees just turn a muddy brown fuzz. It fails to focus on any objects and the view is about 2 feet. Even close ups are blurry and out of focus. No different during the day. Videos just do not focus, are blurred and jumpy, and the camera is bulky and difficult to keep still. Even when set upon a desk, the videos are grainy. Not happy with this purchase. I had such high hopes for this one! So disappointed instead.

Great for the money
Great camera for the money. Haven't used the flash or mic yet, but hopefully with this, the quality and ease of use will pay for itself soon.

Good camera for the money
Next step up was over $100, then above $2k. Works ok. Auto-focus is difficult at times.

Before considering this camera look at the image I uploaded and that is what you are going to get.
**DO NOT GET THIS CAMERA** MINOLTA MN4KPRO The files look fine on the camera, but once you play them on a computer the resolution drops so much that the pixels are completely distorted throughout the videos. The audio also gets out of sync. I bought three of these cameras from different places and all of them had the same issue. I’m returning two, and unfortunately I’ll have to trash the third. What good is a video camera if the video and audio are unusable? Please do NOT buy this, even for $10.00 it is not worth it.

Spend the money for something else.
Video is ok quality with the focus being slow and underwhelming. Audio is horrible. I am going to try and return product.
