Very nice and sturdy, easy to assemble and install…but two people should install it. Heavy duty. It is nice that it has slide openings to add tie down rings.

I researched racks for my Wrangler JL 2 door to the point of obsession as I tend to do. My research always pays off. The Hooke Road is so well designed and made. I favor bolted construction because of its strength and endurance over welded joints. Bolted construction also often allows compensation for imperfections with Jeep that have been modified. MY Bestop opens perfectly and does not touch rack. I really like the low profile for garage entry and minimal parasite drag. My camera showed the deliver guy dropping my package on the curb then carrying to my porch as bolts dropped in my grass. Customer Service responded immediately and resolved my bolt problem immediately. Hint - only slightly snug bolds until security rack is attached to gutters. Then tighten all. Also, separate long bolts from short bolts before you do anything.

This rack is heavy duty. It comes well-packed in a box that weighs about 80lbs. Assembly takes a hot minute, there are about a billion screws, nuts, and washers. Keep in mind, 4 of the larger screws are slightly longer and need to be separated during assembly - otherwise you will be unscrewing everything while looking for them later. And also, leave the screws for the crossbars very loose to begin with, or you'll end up like the guy in another review that said "a piece was too long" - so check this before to take an angle grinder to it. It took my wife and I about 2 hours to get it put together and installed.Materials are top knotch. Entire rack is rough crinkle finish enamel coated. It is a very heavy duty rack. Mounts up nice and solid, I believe this thing would withstand a roll-over. And the best part of all, and the reason why I took a chance on it? It works perfectly with the Bestop Sunrider top on a 2D Wrangler JL! You have about an inch of clearance between the fabric and the rack - can't make for a better fit.Get this rack. It's a well-built, solid piece of kit for your Jeep.

Roof rack was easy enough to assemble and looked nice. Outside of that, nothing good to say.We tightened this down as much as the supplied hardware would allow. On the first freeway trip, while loaded with a 40lb suitcase, the entire two rear mounts came loose allowing the roof rack to slam down and back permanently damaging our hard top. The shear weight and friction kept it on until we could get on the shoulder of the freeway. I was then stuck trying to disassemble the roof rack (luckily I always carry tools in the Jeep) on the side of the freeway in 110+ degree Arizona summer. I am thankful it at least hung on instead of flying completely off and possibly injuring someone else.Stay away. Spend more and get a quality product. I have a feeling most of these reviews only installed the product, never used it.

In common I like this rack and everything fit perfectly except one piece - rear bar ! The bar is 1" longer then the rest. I spent plenty of time guessing how to attach it, then just cut that inch, redrill holes and finally install it.So it was kind of DIY project.

Compatible with 2 door jl, allows the freedom panels be removed.Had to assemble the rack myself, which came with no instructions, luckily there was a pdf here on this Amazon page somewhere that had the instructions.Pretty straight forward to put together ( once u have the instructions lol ) the only issue I had was one of my bolts was plugged up, the hex key could not fit, but I figured out a way to tighten it.Make sure you use the right bolts for the right holes too! Also sometimes it feels like the bolt won't thread, don't let it fool you, its just the paint on the threads giving resistance. Once u turn the hex key it'll go right in. In fact it's better sometimes to thread the bolt taken it out then assemble, as the bolt will go in easier.Rack did arrive with a dent on the inside of one of the sides but it's up top and u can't see itOverall really happy with its sleek slender look and had fun putting it togetherFeels super sturdy and looks amazing
