Drive reader works great gets the job done at reasonable speeds. The product is also small enough to fit into most places making storage easy.

I've used this for some time for permanently connected external hard drives with no problems. Read and write speed are very good. My only tiny complaint is that the blue disk activity light is hard to see, and many computers including mine don't have any other indicators. I haven't tried using the device for cloning.

I've been using it hooked to a Linux on 10 year old latop. With software RAID1 on two 4TB drives it backs up my files and data overnight.

Easy setup. Easy to use. Plug and play and ready to go.

Doesnt read IDE drives connected to an IDE to SATA adapter, tried 2 different IDE to SATA adapters to be sure, and both didnt work. Purchased another SATA cloner, from a different brand, and it was able to read and clone the IDE drive mounted to an IDE to SATA adapter. Just wanted to mention this incase you are planning to use an IDE to SATA adapter with this cloner, it might not work. It may have just been incompatible with the 2 adapter's i used, but one was a high quality IDE to SATA adapter, and worked perfectly in the second cloner i purchased. Since this cloner was very cheap, and i read a lot of good things about the Fideco brand, I ended up keeping this cloner anyway to have different options if i have other compatibility issues in the future.

I only tested it with hdd (no ssd) and I was able to copy files from one disk to the other via windows at the max speed of the slowest of the 2 hdd, as expected. It was able to recognize disk > 2tb but I don’t have anything to test >= 4tb, it advertises support for 16tb. One quirk is that if you start with one disk the hotplug a second, it will first disconnect then both disk will reconnect, some 3.5” disk take a little as they spin up but of the 6 or 7 I tested none failed. I am not sure hotplug is safe just stating the observed behavior. I did not test the one button clone feature as that’s not something I need. During a few 5h long sessions of data copy it never disconnected … the disks can get hot (especially the 7200 kind) independently of this unit but because they are mostly exposed an external fan pointed at the unit at an angle kept them cool. For the price I am happy, I used it quite extensively for a couple of weeks and it worked well for my use case (aka hdd file copy), time will tell if it’s also durable.

Works OK but an External Hard Drive Enclosure is better and less expensive

Love this dock small foot print fast transfer easy to use. I ended up buying a 2nd one
