A good machine

This abomination brings coffee into disrepute. I was looking for basic drip coffee maker like those in the 70's and 80's so nothing fancy like timers etc. The hinged top lid requires about 8in or more clearance to raise it for filling. Its also flimsy and warps so doesn't shut when steamy or when cold. The drip preventer when jug is in place is quite ineffective so very hot water can drip onto hotplate especially if jug is removed before brewing is completed. Its annoying to use, noisy due to water on hot plate, and IMHO UNSAFE. AVOID.

Excellent product

Basic filter coffee machine works well but lid won't stay down .. I find that annoying

It works well but it does switch off after 40 minutes. No mention of this anywhere.

We just wanted a coffee maker without extra gizmos like clock, timer, bean roasting and grinding facility, oscillator caboobilator etc. The Hamilton Beach machine is simple and makes an excellent cup of coffee. The wife is on her third cup already this morning!

This coffee machine made really nice coffee and kept it hot ready to drink for 45 mins i loved it but exactly 1 month after purchase it stopped heating and no water passed through the filter even though the power light was showing as on i contacted the company that sold it and was politely brushed off so amazon customer service sorted the return out but unfortunetly i couldnt bring myself to buy from this seller again so bought a different machine from different seller that turned out to be nowhere near as good but has kept working
