Better than the knock-offs. Cost more but paying for something that actually works.
Works as expected and has much better reception than another radio (knock-off) I've had that is the same size. Need to read the instruction manual to understand all the buttons. Some buttons have more than one use. It scans the bands well. Volume from speaker is good, though the included headphones are better for clarity vs the single speaker. The included case is soft synthetic cloth material and only protect from sand or sprinkles but not drops or impacts. The 2xAA are lasting well after several hours of use. Has good features (e.g. squelch) and is useful for emergencies or road trips/camping. I was tired of having a radio that did not have good reception, the CCrane is picking up local stations my other radio did not. It is also receiving AM stations with less static or interference. Weather band is clear as my weather radio.

Great camping radio
Great reception, picks up my favorite stations back home while camping over 60 miles away, my new vehicle wouldn’t do it, batteries also last good. I held off on buying it for awhile because of cost, but should’ve bought it years ago. Also like the programmable station availability, and power off lock..

Good choice for a travel radio
A solid choice for a travel radio. Great band coverage with good sensitivity across the board. The speaker sound quality is okay, but is outmatched by many radios of the same size. However, what the Skywave gives in return is excellent battery life using ubiquitous AA batteries, which is what sold me on this radio. The sound quality on headphones is great. It has solid build quality an includes nice touches. For example, the center key has a small dimple on it so that you can locate it by feel (not unlike the f an j keys on a keyboard). It comes with a decent travel pouch, an excellent user’s manual, which is often not the case with radios today. It is very intuitive radio to operate (always a good thing 😊). All in all, I am happy with this radio. Having said that, nothing is perfect. While the contrast on the display is good with the backlight off, that is not always the case when it is on. The backlight is very uneven and makes it difficult to read the under some lighting conditions. This is something that most radios do well and it’s inexplicable for a radio at this price point.

Works great
Was a little smaller then I expected but it worked great, batteries lasted a whole 3 day weekend and still show they are full. My only complaint would be the buttons are so small I had to put on reading glasses to see the print

Do
Poor reception. Does not work as intended. Not worth the money.

Okay, if somewhat over-priced.
Limited AM reception. Would benefit from external antenna for FM. Weather channels work well in my area. Not the best fidelity, but good volume from included earphones. Have yet to try rechargeable batteries.

CCrane is the top name in small radios
I had one of these that worked for 20 years until it died, I think due to battery corrosion. It's a good price and gets good reception on Am/Fm. I was not able to get much on shortwave, but that's probably because I would need a decent antenna. I use this in the bathroom for the news in the morning, so apparently the moisture doesn't bother it. It's a great size if you want to take to a baseball game and listen to the play-by-play while you watch. It works with both a cord and batteries. So it's handy to have when the power goes out.
