That vintage photo flare some photos might be lacking
I recently got my hands on the Dream FX Filter by Prism Lens FX, and let me tell you, it’s like sprinkling a bit of magic onto your photos and videos. If you’re into that dreamy, ethereal vibe, this filter might just be your new best friend. First impressions: It looks pretty sleek and feels solid. None of that cheap plastic stuff – this one’s got some weight to it, which I always take as a good sign. Setting it up was a breeze. Just screw it onto your lens, and you're good to go. I tried it with both my DSLR and mirrorless, and it fit perfectly. Now, onto the fun part – using it! The Dream FX Filter softens the light in the most beautiful way, giving everything a sort of glowy, vintage feel. I took a few shots at Golden Hour, and wow, the results were stunning. It’s like stepping into a fairytale. The colors blend smoothly, and there’s this lovely halo effect around the light sources. One thing to note, though – it’s definitely a stylistic tool. It won’t be your go-to for every single shoot, especially if you’re after sharp, crisp images. But for portraits, landscapes, or even some creative videos, it adds a unique touch that’s hard to replicate in a post. In terms of practicality, it’s easy to carry around. I just pop it into my camera bag, and it doesn’t take up much space. Cleaning is simple too – just a quick wipe with a lens cloth, and you’re set. So, would I recommend it? Absolutely, if you’re looking to add a bit of dreamy flair to your shots. It’s a fun and creative addition to any photographer’s kit. Plus, experimenting with it can lead to some really cool results. Overall, the Dream FX Filter by Prism Lens FX is a win in my book. It’s not just a filter; it’s a way to see the world a little differently, and who wouldn’t want that?

Very subtle?
I recently got a new camera and decided to get some filters for it. I saw this "Dream" filter and thought it would be worth checking out. There are mixed reviews for this product and I fall on the side that thinks this filter isn't really worth getting. I think it softens up the light, but honestly I'm not totally sure. This is the lowest strength filter you can get from Prism Lens FX, so if you are wanting to really notice the filter effect, I would go with a different filter. It does screw on easily and has a plastic case to store it in. Overall, for the price of this, I would pass on it.

No me siento satisfecho con esta compra. El efecto es mínimo y en ocasiones es nulo. Realmente no lo recomiendo. Las reviews en YouTube sobrevaloran este artículo. Una pena.

A Filter You Will Love or Hate
The main thing to know about the Dream FX Filter for Camera Lens Diameters of 77mm by Prism Lens FX is it creates an effect you will either love or hate. Some reviewers claim the filter does nothing and is worthless, while others claim it creates a dreamy, cinematic effect. I am with those who appreciate the effect this filter creates. The two attached photos were taken within minutes of each other, the first with the filter and the second without. The difference is obvious; the photo taken with the filter has a softer, hazy look. Some call it blurring, but the difference is more subtle than just blurring. Whatever you call it, the effect is there; the question is whether you like it or not. The filter is a high quality product. The frame is machined aluminum, and the workmanship is excellent. It threads smoothly on and off a lens and is easy to grip. The glass is not coated, but it appears to be high quality. Whether it is worth the cost depends on one's opinion of the effect it produces. I like the effect and feel it will be useful for some artistic shots, so to me it is a good value. I give it four stars for its build quality and effect. The only reason I do not give the Dream FX Filter by Prism Lens FX five stars is that the manufacturer shows it as coming with a soft case, as one might expect for a quality filter, but it actually ships with a cheap plastic case only. This is the same throughout all of the brand's filters and is something they should correct.

Subtle, like a 1/8 pro mist
At first glance at the filter, it doesn't look like there's any texture or diffusion going on. The glass looks pretty clear, but you can see the speaks if you look at it more carefully. The effects is around what you'd get from a 1/8 diffusion filter...it's subtle, but noticeable against a backlight. It'll work well for when you want your videos to look normal, with a hint of softness to it. I really like these, and I really like the filters that PRISM make. This is by far one of their most normal filters in terms of effects, and I love it.

Does Nothing
First, this did not come with a case as shown. It’s a clear filter as it adds no effect to your photos and has no rotational adjustment option. It's not worth it unless you just want a clear filter to protect your lens at an outrageous price. Useless.

Turn clinically sharp lens to cinematic
I am not sure what percentage of the black mist filter effect that this filter has, but it does add a pleasing look to your footage. It is an ideal filter for video but I also like the effect that it has for photography. It gives you a very nostalgic film like look. For video, it can make skin look like it has been slightly retouched for smoother looking skin. It also adds a slight blooming effect to lights for an atmospheric effect. Overall amazing lens filter that is great for video and photography.

The filter is okay. I was just wondering what is the strength of this filter? Is it 1/8, 1/4, or 1/2? On the original website of prismlensfx.com they have the options to choose the strength. I was hoping to get the 1/2 the get the dreamiest result. But the one I received on Amazon doesn't do much.
