Just buy it. It's great! (read for caveats)
These are the biggest reasons to buy this wallet. They effect your life dozens of times a day.- It slides in and out of your pants easily- Gives you quick access to what's inside (without fighting a strap or zipper)- It securely holds cards, cash, pen and Pocket notebook without be any bigger than it needs to be.- It's simple- Field Notes can come in and out of the wallet easily as needed...but they don't HAVE to come out to write onHere's the other reasons that seem more important when shopping (but don't matter as much day-to-day compared to the list above)- It looks really nice in person.- It feels like it's going to last a long time.- It will hold a pen clipped on the inside of the spine w/o bunching up anything inside or hanging out.- There's no crap hanging on the outside to get hung up (or fall off). Everything is both inside and securely inside due to the simple, yet effective design.- It protects the field notebooks- It's very inexpensive for what you get.I don't see any downsides but I can anticipate some things people won't like.-Its bigger than a minimalist wallet - However I don't think it could be any smaller and still be a wallet that holds field notes and a pen.- There isn't a ton of extra storage - However, I kinda like this too. There's plenty of room for things I need to carry in a wallet but that's about it.In summary, I love this thing. Reduces all the friction of pocket journaling. I can have an idea and be jotting it down 3 seconds later and have everything back in my pocket 3 seconds after I'm done writing.ProTip: I really like Field Notes but I've found that the cheaper off brand notebooks are better. Better binding, 60 pages, and cost about a dollar. I also like the bare Kraft covers because it gives me a place to put stuff that matters to me. (I'll draw my own ruler if I need one.) I still think Field Notes are cool but work in the cheapies a lot as well to bring the costs of use down.

Love this durable little guy!
After carrying a super thick dad, wallet that had me in and out of the chiropractor‘s office too many times, I converted to minimalist slimline wallet, and this one is perfect for me. Help me keep it cleaned out and slim and I stopped collecting receipts and other useless jug that I didn’t need to carry around in my wallet. The leather quality is exceptional. I’ve used the same wallet for the last three years. It’s got a beautiful patina on it and really nice discrete pockets for credit cards and a little bit of mad money ( cash). I’m a fan of leather goods and I pride myself by getting quality leatherwork. This is among one of my best purchases on Amazon for leather. At some point when I need to replace it, I’ll replace it with the same one.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Cover for my small Moleskine that I use to jot down random thoughts & lists.

Keeps all your certs/saftey crap organized and keeps your notes from being destroyed.
Good quality, adequate size (not gonna fit in your shirt pocket). I keep all my certs and safety cards in here and have a regular pad for notes tucked in. Pen sits just aside it perfectly. Honestly couldn't improve it without complicating it. Basic, functional, quality, I dig it. Actual leather.Blackrock is the magic juice for leather. Buy a jar, you'll understand far before its gone, because it goes a long way.

Fits in men's pants pocket
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This has held up to every day carry use for about 6 months now. Holds the notebook securely. Has two credit card pockets on the left side which are perfectly sized. 4 stars because the back pocket does not hold US currency without folding. Just a little too small for that. The leather and stitching are good for this price point. The leather conforms to your body when you sit on it. Not too stiff, not too floppy.

Quality higher than the price! Nice!
Excellent and fair priced leather cover for Field Notes and other pocket notebooks (3 12 x 5 1/2”). It easily fits one notebook, and since I ordered the color without the internal pen loop (which I’m very glad I did), a second one fits in the front cover slot as well. Note that I’ve only tried the softcover notebooks; a hardcover may fit, but it may require some coaxing since there is no gusseting in the slots. And it may become more feasible after the leather breaks in a bit. Speaking of leather, very nice, rich color, and its quite substantial. I noticed right away that it closes with a satisfying slap given its thickness. Nice. The only smell I detected was a pleasant leather aroma, no odors of tanning or other processes. The product was well packaged in a drawstring muslin bag inside a cardboard sleeve, with a postcard of the Eiffel Tower included. Peculiar choice, but fun and thoughtful. To repeat, think hard about the pen loop. Sounds efficient, but I can’t see how the cover would work as well or as easily with it inside.

Great quality!
Well, There's nothing bad I can think of to say about this Leather Journal Cover. The leather is think and well stitched. I treated the leather myself (which is reflected in the darker color and imprint on the field notes notepad) and would recommend the same to anyone who owns anything leather. If your looking for a leather cover thats beautiful, compact, and a class act, this would be it.

Better Than Most
Good quality leather the side pockets are quite functional, one can even convert this to a traveller's style by punching the spine and inserting rubber bands I did this, and now I have something I think is a bit more versatile than those Midori covers.
