Great little HDMI extractor HDA-912
Great little product. I was confused by the hook ups, as I was thinking I could bypass ARC from my soundbar to my projector (the projector is non-ARC) and using the volume control on the soundbar causes the projector to go to its menu and it's hard to switch back the HDMI input after it does this; took about 3 attempts and was a pain. So what I had to eventually do is hook up the soundbar via it's optical out to the extractor's optical output and plug the projector into the HDMI output of the extractor. No Atmos over optical but I never really used that, but the 5.1 sound and picture quality are excellent and no more issues with the ARC or CEC function from the soundbar as there was no way to turn it off. Very happy with it and solidly built.

Great little box
This box works great! As advertised, strips the audio signal from the HDMI signal and gives you a stereo out jack to send the audio to your mixer. I am using this box with a laptop running karaoke software. After stripping the audio from the HDMI cable I run another HDMI cable from the box to the TV for the karaoke lyrics. In my experience this box works best when it’s plugged in and powered up first. Then power up your laptop/computer then the TV/monitor. If the box isn’t on first, it sometimes does not do what it’s designed to.

Worked like a char
Son bought monitor without built-in speakers or 3.5 jack to use with his Xbox Series X which surprisingly enough does not support external speakers, just the main HDMI signal out to the tv. Took 5 minutes to connect this lil guy to some stand alone computer speakers and wallah, we have sound! No degradation or lag. 10/10

Only passes the SELECTED audio type (PCM, Surrount) through to HDMI output
I purchased this so that I could extract 2.0 (stereo) PCM audio from the toslink connection to a wireless headphone transmitter. (The transmitter accepts ONLY 2.0/PCM input. The expectation:That I could insert this device between the output of a streaming box, which can output surround audio, and the receiver - and the 'untouched' surround audio portion on the HDMI input would continue through to the HDMI output connection - and the the device would 'convert' the surround audio signal to 2.0/PCM and send it out the toslink output to go to the headphone transmitter. What actually happens:If I select the 2.0 switch option on the device, I DO get a down-converted 2.0/PCM signal from the toslink output as needed. But here's where the problem is: In choosing that 2.0/PCM switch option, it ALSO then output ONLY 2.0/PCM audio on the HDMI output connection going to the receiver. So I then lose my surround audio going to the speakers. If I choose the surround switch option on the device, surround audio signal is restored onto the HDMI output...but then I have no 2.0/PCM signal on the toslink output again, so then the headphones don't work.Instead of labeling this as an "Audio Extractor", it should be labeled as an "Audio Converter" since the switch setting seems to convert in the incoming audio signal to the switch setting and then sends that converted signal to to the HDMI-out and the Toslink-output.

Works fine
I purchased this product because my monitor does not have a 3.5 headphone jack so i had to find an alternative to get sound. The sound sounds great. I can't tell if there's a difference. As long i was able to get sound without purchasing a new monitor to play my Xbox. I was a bit skeptical about it at first, but i was happy I did purchase it. The only complaint I have is that you will have additional cables, so my desk set up looks messy with all my cables.

FINALLY! Something that can eliminate audio delay
I was using ARC on my Roku 65" TV but I had very noticeable audio lag when I output as anything but stereo audio. If I used optical, it minimized it a bit but it was still there. So I read some reviews and tried this much like how I used to have an A/V receiver to do the same thing. Basically, the HDMI output from the hub goes into this which strips out the audio that I send over to the 5.1 sound bar. Audio lag is completely unnoticeable now. This was always an issue with all TVs I ever had even going back about 10+ years on HDMI... it made playing games almost unbearable... but it made watching TV harder..... it wasn't until I hooked up an A/V receiver and then output that to the TV without the bitstream audio where the audio remained in sync. So this box does that same job and the sync is so well done. This saved me about $200 on buying another 4K receiver too to solve this problem. Now I need a larger HDMI hub since I'm running everything through this now and outputting the optical to my sound bar. ARC is very good... but the lag definitely is not.One thing is that sometimes I get an issue where the colorspace or something is off when I go from game mode with HDR back to regular.... the colors get all messed up. The solution is to put the HDMI hub and this device into an Alexa controlled plug (probably about $20 or less). Set up a routine so that when it happens that it cuts power to both the HDMI hub and this device and then turns it back on 3 seconds later. When you do that, it will fix the HDMI colorspace problem. Annoying? Yes, partially. But audio sync is a bigger one and with the Alexa routine, I don't have to get up when it happens.

Another rebranded audio converter
I use an audio converter to extract analog audio from an HDMI source in order to output through my receiver's zone 2 because only the main zone can accept digital audio. When it works, it works great and I have whole home audio, but I started having issues with a J-Tech HDMI audio converter and my HDMI receiver so I decided to give this one a try. As soon as I got it and compared to the J-Tech it was obvious this is the exact same piece of hardware that they are both buying and branding. Everything about them is identical other than the logo, including them causing a problem with the HDMI signal. I frequently have to unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back in to get my receiver to properly display the signal. They also seem to prevent the receiver's onscreen menu from working. If I remove this device, I don't have any of those issues.
