Simply brilliant.
This book mainly covers scales, Modes and arpeggios and is a valuable tool for any metal/rock guitarist. I used to have a rather confused outlook when it came to modes but the author breaks down the concept in this book making it easy to understand, this might actually be the most beneficial book I have purchased and would recommend it to any lead guitarist looking to brush up on their modal theory and improve on their playing. The author has a friendly approach which honestly makes it feel like, at times that a friend is basically reading the book to you...or that might just be me haha but anyway like ive said if you want to improve your modal theory and playing this book is a great investment.

excellent
everything about this book is great. the teaching style, the layout, the lessons and advice. would highly recommend this anyone of an intermediate level looking to progress and have real focus in their study. the teacher sounds like a great guy, down to earth and really makes you feel confident and comfortable about progressing.

Great book.
A very well written book full of very useful stuff.L. Herman starts by saying it's OK to flick through the book and just do the exercises, but encourages the reader to go back and check out the words for a deeper understanding of what's going on.It's a fun read, aimed at shred/speed/metal guitarists without being too cheesy. Moreover, these techniques and exercises would be useful for many guitar styles really. You'll need a TV remote or something to hold it open while learning the licks.

Good book.
The theory layout seems to be a tad unorthodox but not a bad book.

Excellent book written by a guitarist for guitarists.
Bought this book for my son for Christmas who is an accomplished guitarist but who wanted to learn more on the theory. He absolutely loved it.
