VCM Problem Solved
This device works, it completely disabled my VCM system in my 2016 Odyssey. I have not seen the ECO light come on since installation October 2024. I have noticed about a 2 MPG decrease in gas milage overall and the temperature needle reads slightly lower on the cabin temperature gauge. Just be aware that's how the device works by tricking the vehicle computer into thinking the engine is too cold to employ the VCM system. But in reality your engine is operating at a normal temperature and the cooling fans, heater controls all work normally because they are controlled by a different sensor. I have noticed my engines is more responsive and runs much smother with the VCM device installed. I did find some you--tube instructions for installing this device on line - Number one is: only install the device in the morning when the engine is completely cold. I used the 82 Ohm resistor - the color code painted on the resistor is: Gray, Red, Black the Gold color just indicates the resistor tolerance will be within 5% of the stated value of 82 Ohms. You can also use a multimeter to measure the resistor values. Fortunately I got this Muzzler device installed before experiencing the effects of the VCM cylinder misfires, oil burning, expensive motor mount and piston ring replacements other Honda Odyssey owners have reported. There are other fancier electronic VCM Muzzlers available that I may look into latter on but for now this device seems to get the job done for a reasonable price and easy install.

It’s legit
This is a must have for any engine with the VCM (Variable cylinder management). Very simple to hook up. I put in the 100 ohm Resistor, which is tricky to figure out if you don’t know much about electrical! You may want to buy a $10 multi meter to go with this because that is how I had to check the resistors to figure out which one was the hundred ohms… Otherwise, there are color charts, but that was kind of confusing. Anyways 2012 Honda pilot, Hooked it up and the Eco light has not come on and my vehicle is running like butter now! Smooth And balanced. Not misfiring anymore, and the transmission is even shifting smoothly at a lower RPM … Whoever invented that VCm System should be slapped!!!!!!

Vcm delete
It works really well for my 2011 honda 3.5 v6. Very simple install. Priced was extremely cheap but a quality product. I'm leaving a 4 star because I used the recommended ohm piece and my eco light would still come on for a few miles. But other than that works well for a VCM delete.

Works great
So far, so good. Resistor only fits in box if you put it on top of inner piece, unlike shown in pic. So, leave wires long. I originally snipped them shorter to make it fit on the side, inside the case. But, cas wouldn't shut. Used another resistor, left the wires long, and folded it to sit on top of the inner box. Case closed fine after that. Has worked great and ECO light now stays off. Thanks. Exactly what we needed.

No instructions
No instructions on how many ohms each resister has, you have to guess. Not worth buying

2012 Honda Odyssey VCM Deleted
Install was super easy and take no tools to install. Just unclipping the original harness to plug in this VCM delete and 1 zip tie to move it out the way. So far so good, if anything changes, will edit the rating. I ended up using the 100 Ohm resistor as recommended from other reviews, no check engine light and no ECO mode.

Not well designed but can be made better with a little work
Almost impossible to get it reassembled after installing the resistor. I shortened the plastic shroud over the wires to allow more wire inside the box. This allowed the white block turn and fit inside as needed. I also 'tinned' (soldered) the wire ends so the block could clamp them better, No written instructions included. The item description on line does not tell you to roll over the pictures for directions. I accidentally rolled over a picture and the instructions were on the blown up picture.

Works great
Installed on 2012 V6 Pilot to stop engine from burning oil, clogging cat, all resulting on check engine light (420 code). Immediately after install, device stops ECO mode from triggering, which reason for engine burning oil. Within 60 miles after install, and usage of a cat cleaning solution (goes in fuel tank), check engine light turned off. Also, car runs better. Noticing decrease of appx 2 mpg from elimination of ECO mode but worth it for longevity of vehicle. Currently got 270k miles on odometer.
