Super Easy, Even With One Hand
I used this to reopen 3 lower ear piercings that had long closed up and I really want to wear pretty earrings without the hassle of locating and paying someone a ton of money. So let me tell you how easy this was. I had arm surgery the day before and it was in a cast. Being as determined to do this for years, I used one (1) uno hand to clean the ear lobes very well, gloved 1/2 of a hand, all of the good hand, and used as clean process as I could to perform these procedures alone. Piece.Of.Cake seriously, it was. Just make sure you practice once on the cardboard ear cutout that comes with the kit. The instructions didn't come with my package (it's typical) so I watched the video about 4 times at their website. I marked my earlobes trying to measure with one hand and mark with one hand (this was not easy but it worked out fine for me). Making sure the piercing gun was perpendicular to my ear, slowly press the trigger without moving or flinching. Done. Two more times. Completely done. None of the backings of the ears became stuck in the gun (which I had read so many times happening to others). The downsides: Please Studex -- include the instructions in the kits! For crying out loud! It's been over 4 weeks now and I've been cleaning them daily, turning and pulling the studs while using alcohol to clean. Two more weeks and I hope to wear my pretty earrings again. And someday my arm is going to heal and get this cast / splint off. Don't be afraid - just familiarize yourself with all the pieces, watch the online videos, tell yourself if the girl in the video can do it, then you can. Wash your hands better than usual and get some nonsterile gloves on before you go touching all the parts inside the package. You don't want to transfer extra germs onto the gun or the earrings before using. Be cautious, careful and go slowly. Enjoy!!!

Excellent quality and very easy to use. Practice aiming first though!
Worth every dollar. The mechanism is top quality, once lined up, virtually painless. The most difficult part is getting the piercing stud and back inserted without contaminating it; however, it's a simple thing to get a cotton swab to clean the post and ear lobe before activating the Studex. It is a very good idea to practice on the thick cardboard practice ear before punching holes in your head. I found that no matter how carefully I liked up the point, the gun always shot high, between 2-3 mm higher than I was aiming. I did my ear lobes to correct poorly spaced previous piercings and found it to be much easier than anticipated. I do have to admit that the first couple of tries were way too high, and I removed the stud immediately, cleaned it, and was ultimately successful in getting the stud exactly where I wanted it. Yes, there are a couple of extra holes now, but they have not presented any issues (infection and the like) . Practice with the cardboard ear until you get comfortable with your aim and your particular Studex tool. Some might shoot high, low, left or right but practice will eliminate accidentally punching holes in the wrong spot. There are other piercing tools available at lower prices, but some reviews indicate sticking or jamming; you won't find that with the Studex. High quality tool, highly recommended.

Yay! Better than expected!
Best. Impulse-buy. Ever! Have always wanted my doubles pierced but was too lazy to schedule an appointment/pay the $60+ it cost to have them done. Everything was packaged to perfection, sanitary, and top of the line! I read several reviews on here where people stated that their gun got stuck or the studs didn't stay or the earring didn't pierce all the way through but I had ZERO issues! (I'm assuming their product must have either just been a fluke or a random factory/faulty mistake -- which DOES happen) but once again, I had no problems! Not to mention, I have zero experience with piercing soooo if I can figure it out -- anyone can. After 3 shots of Jack Fire for encouragement of course, I finally had the lady-balls to just go for it... The gun pierced perfectly and lined up with the markers beautifully! Was VERY happy with my purchase overall and have already purchased more Studex studs to pierce more! Not recommended for cartilage, but I'm planning on giving it a shot anyway -- was never one to really follow the rules. Super excited and happy with this product! :)
