This is the chow mein you will find in Fall River
In the Fall River where Original Foods is located, this product can be found in all the markets. It makes chow mein your way.I added steak tips along with La Choy Chop Suey vegetables and a can of water chestnuts. With the other boxes and canned vegetables, I bought steak tips, cooked shrimp and grilled chicken. It is very easy to prepare just add the gravy to a quart of boiling broth. When it thickens add your meat and vegetables. The container has a bag of chow mein noodles and a packet of dry gravy to mix with half a cup of hot water and then add it to the boiling broth.Fall River is famous for chow mein sandwiches which is the bottom half of a hamburger bun on a plate.Cover in chow mein. Place the top half on top and cover that with more chow mein.As you prepare this yourself it is extremely fresh and you use quality ingredients.Recipes are on the box.

Nostalgic Chow Mein
My grandma used to make this chow mein for us when we visited. She was from the east coast and always had it on-hand. It is delicious and easy to make. Must use within a few months, though, or it gets stale. Also, recommend storing in the fridge.

Quick, Easy, and SO GOOD!!!
This is a regional favorite local to Fall River, Mass. If you can boil water, you can make this (but recommend using beef stock instead). The secret is in the noodles - they are like none I have ever found anywhere else. They are great crunchy, but even better when you mix the noodles with the sauce (and whatever other goodies you want to add like sprouts, onion, chicken, etc.). This is how the locals eat it. I grew up with this and have a family story to share. My cousins lived in Fall River and this was a must have whenever we would visit. One time in the 70's I was outside with my cousin before dinner and he introduced me to his neighbor. He was probably about 12 or 13 years old at the time. He was very friendly and even offered to cook for us as he dreamed of becoming a chef. My cousin vouched for how good his food was, but I was so looking forward to having this Chow Mein. When we told him what we were going to have for dinner he totally understood.Later in life I learned this kid was Emeril Lagasse! I have to be the only person on earth to turn down a dinner cooked by Emeril for what at the time was Chinese take-out. A couple of weeks after this happened my cousins came up to our place and brought Emeril with them. He ended up playing my drum set (he was good at that too?) and fell in love with my mother's brownies and took the recipe. I still wonder to this day if he ended up putting his own touches on mom's brownies. But no regrets. This Chow Mein is that good!

Great flavor Easy to make
If you can't get out for Chinese food this is the next best thing. It's easy to make ,only have to add a couple of ingredients and you have Chow Mein, Complete with noodles/ I like to top it off with a little Oriental Hot Mustard. The kind you mix yourself, not the little packets.

My family loves this.
My family loves this stuff. Use to order it direct but they no longer ship. Glad I found the product on Amazon. Just wish it had a longer shelf life. I put in freezer, hope its ok when I finally get to use it. We really enjoy this product in the winter time. Its comfy food on a cold winter day.

Definitely not a keeper
I had great expectations for this, I was really rather disappointed. The best way I can describe it, is it tasted like someone had taken the cardboard box from the product I was expecting, added a little flavoring and then shredded it. Really nasty, pretty much tasted like stale, shredded cardboard.
