Bought this as a "backup" for our central air unit that's over 30 yrs old. They don't make them like that anymore, but we don't want to be against the wall when it does give up.Our bedroom window can't accept a standard window unit.Waited (minimum 6 hours) for the oil in the unit to settle after delivery, to set it up and try it out.The window setup was easy, the hose is adequate - not super flimsy, the unit runs quiet enough. I cut up a pool noodle to use as a foam support for the window duct.I ran it for a good test run, and experienced no problems, with good cooling power.Not mentioned in the description - is the unit is designed to flow water from the evaporator, over the condenser. Minimizing the need for draining, and increasing efficiency. There is a port to drain it to a bucket, if the humidity is so high it's overwhelming that system.Great value for some peace of mind.

Amazing. I've been using it for a few weeks now, works perfectly. Easy to install, mine has the compressor that I don't need to drain. Basically I set the temp, forget about it, keeps my entire 450 SQ ft apt cool. My dog is happy as well! I saw a lot of reviews saying it's "loud" it's NOT. It's the same as just a normal fan noise that you would have if you didn't have an A/C. VERY happy with this product. Perfect size for an apartment like mine, it's only 50 lbs, and on wheels, super convenient.

I asked if it was possible to purchase an additional set of window sliding kits, but they misunderstood my question and repeatedly said that one was already included—ignoring the actual request. This raises concerns about future support should the unit develop any issues. Additionally, no user manual was included in the box. While the mobile app initially worked well, it failed to connect the second time I tried, making it unreliable so far.

This ZAFRO 16,000BTU Portable Air Conditioner is my second ZAFRO AC unit that I have purchased this summer. I first purchased the 14,000BTU unit earlier in the summer for my main bedroom. Being pleased with its performance and how quiet it was (it is probably one of the quietest, if not the the most quiet portable A/C I have seen in the market), I decided to pick up the ZAFRO 16,000BTU unit for my living room as well. I live on the top floor of my building with south facing windows, so it gets really hot in the summer time. Both of these ZAFRO units have been performing very well this summer to keep my place nice and cool. And one of the benefits of have two ZAFRO Portable ACs is that you can add both units on to their app, and then you can use your phone or tablet to control both devices, which is really a nice and convenient feature! They also look good and are not overly large or heavy, like other air conditioners I have had experience with in the past. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase, and would recommend these two units without hesitation!

I ordered a top-rated portable AC that did not fit my window, despite the fact that the description said it would. Amazon was nice about returning it, but I didn't want to have that problem twice. So I chose the Zafro because of the videos showing that it fit all window sizes. Now I am very happy that I ended up with this one. It is smaller than the first one, it has more power--16,000 vs 14,000, and it was less expensive. The part that goes in the window is also far less high (only 7.5") so you lose less of your window. It was super easy to set up, it is very quiet--far less noisy than the window air conditioner in my bedroom, and it cools the large (600 sq.ft/ 9ft ceilings) living area in my hot, top-floor NYC apartment. Another thing that I love is that, unlike the window air conditioner in my bedroom, this one reduces the humidity. The window installation is so easy that I put it in and out depending on the weather. At this point, I can't speak to this AC's longevity, but I am super happy with it.

More hot then cold. I have a 5000BTU Midea in my small bedroom and it works great and very quiet. I thought I would try a 10000 BTU for my large primary. To test it out, I set it up in the kitchen to vent out the patio door. By day 2 I unplugged it because it was making my kitchen hotter then it was cooling it. All the heat is coming from the back of the unit while the front is blowing nice cool air. The hose is poorly made on this unit ans is a thin plastic that you must twist to thread it onto the 2 end pieces. The hose kept falling off which released even more hot air into my room. In the end this one did not.work for me so I returned and will order a other Midea brand.
