Fan Noise Started 3 Months In
Switch worked great for 3 months, then the fan started running VERY loudly at all times. Possibly something broke internally. Hoping customer service will help and I can remove this review. Switching to 5 star review because customer service handled the issue after some cajoling, and because it worked very well until this issue.

NICE and feels Future Proof for at least the next year
This switch is awesome! To be honest, I only have Gig Internet, so I bought this to be ready for the near future. It doesn't need any management, it just does it's thing and works well. I was actually have some issues with my desktop losing bandwidth going up and down to the point I had to reboot the Ethernet drivers all the time. Since I added this switch, I haven't had any of those issues! If you're looking for this type of small device that has some power without a lot of hassle of managing it, then I highly recommend it.

Great little metal housing switch for the price. SHORT power adapter cord.
This Gigaplus 5 port gigabit switch is a good value for the price. The all metal housing doesn't get hot at all, just barely warm. Perfect for a little edge switch were you need it.The only downside is the power cable is REALLY short. Like less than 2 ft long. What they should've done was make the power connector USB C instead of a barrel connector. Then any old 5V 2A adapter would probably do just fine. But finding a longer power cord is still doable - they're between $6 and $11 here on Amazon if the short cord really bothers you.Oh, I also had to exchange the first one I received because the power adapter was rattling. Yeah, I'm not plugging in a power adapter with some loose screw or whatnot rattling about inside it. I'm not chancing a fire for a $13 switch's power adapter. If the power adapter was better quality, a longer cable, or USB C, I'd give it another star.

Smallest 5-port I've seen. Fantastic: indicator lights, METAL and mountable with screws. 1 problem.
I wanted to change all possible of our living room entertainment devices back to WIRED networking. Some were using Wi-Fi the past few years as I upgraded a couple devices and along the way my earlier switch died. I have only 2 wired in-wall drops at the location, so a switch is necessary. To have the absolutely most minimally cluttered installation, I generally opt for extremely short, custom-length patch cables. Since short patch cables can really place some "push" on light devices due to the "strain" inherent in a cable that is likely bent between the switch and the target device, it is critical things be screwed down so they don't move around. It also really helps things to look intentionally and neatly installed. This switch works great both in the networking sense and in the aesthetic sense mentioned above. Since 1G is MORE than adequate to carry H.265 video at 4K (to say nothing of much simpler FLAC and OGG audio files) I expect to be using this diminutive switch at client locations in similar future installs. The indicator lights are useful and UNDERSTATED, so they are not an eyesore in an entertainment setup. The only way in which this product would be better is if it were "managed" and able to tag VLAN traffic, but that's a ridiculous proposition for a $13 device and certainly unnecessary when in reality all 4 attached "entertainment" devices are likely within the same VLAN anyway!I *did* have one frustrating issue. Not a single #4 pan-head screw I tried would fit (in the "height" dimension) in the mounting cutout. To deal with this I disassembled the switch and cut one of the tabs left in the stamping operation of each of the two cutouts. This gave enough "headroom" for the screws. Be careful if you do this! I made sure the remaining metal "flap" did not touch any of the leads or other conductive elements of the logic board!I was actually really surprised at this situation since I habitually mount small devices for clients (and here at home) and have a wide variety of very small screws. The pan-head height is *slightly* different between manufacturers and I expected to find one which would have fit.My guess is that most "DIY" installers might use a wood screw (with conical head). The aspect and height of such a small screw WOULD fit, but that can place unwanted strain on the metal housing . . . A pan-head is the correct choice and distributes the mounting force properly across the edges of the punchout.Try this device, I doubt you will be disappointed!

Fast!
Plug and play! Fast and priced competitively. Awesome performance that's well built. The only complaint is the fan noise being loud.

Love this little guy!
The GiGaPlus 5 port switch is a nice small switch that works great! I like that I can nearly mount it anywhere and go from one ethernet port to 5. Easy to mount and tuck out of the way. Being unmanaged it is easy to just plug n play with little effort. This is not a managed solution if that is what you need. Have a room with just one port yet want to hardwire multiple devices, this is it. Great value too.

Super Loud Fan
This is a basic ethernet switch. While functional, the fatal flaw is the super loud fan. It runs full speed all the time and has a high pitched wine. It is not appropriate for any environment other than a noisy data center where you must wear hearing protection. Don't get this for the office. The noise will drive you mad. I'm not sure why they chose such a ridiculously loud fan, there are plenty of inexpensive fans that are reliable and near silent. Maybe they saved a few pennies on a $200 device. That is a bad trade off. It does not even move much air.
