iProven Oral Thermometer, Measures in 10 seconds with flexible tip and fever alarm, Digital Medical Thermometer for adults, kids and toddlers - DTR-1221A

We used the optical non-touch thermometers for a while and loved the convenience. Then my wife got quite ill and her temperature readings became very important. We discovered that the optical thermometer's readings were not very accurate at all. This was a step back for us to an under the tongue device and yes it does take about 10 seconds to deliver a reading. But the readings are very accurate and the device is very easy to use. Be sure to buy the disposable plastic covers for the device and the mini-alcohol wipes to clean it after using.

It does the job. I cannot express how important it is to have a thermometer in your household. The price was great.

Things I like: (1) It's very easy to use; even a child could take their temperature and look to the emojis to see if they had a fever coming-on, or already had a fever; (2) The screen is easy to read; the numbers are large and they show up well; (3) There is a beeping system that alerts you when you're done taking your temperature, but makes a different set of beeps to alarm you that you either have a fever approaching, or you already have a fever; and, (4) It's the best thermometer I've used in a long time and I have to use one every day. Things I thought needed a smidge of improvement and the only reason it didn't get a five star review: (1) The cap at the end of the thermometer that covers where the battery goes, didn't seal quite evenly; and, (2) There was a bit of a manufacturing imperfection on the blue part that goes into your mouth -- this really would be an issue if it didn't look like someone bit it and the fact that I put it into my mouth. It simply grossed me out a smidge and it probably shouldn't have done. I'm being a bit harsh on the manufacturing, but only because it's something I use every day and it goes into my mouth. All that said, after using this thermometer, I've already been suggesting this version and other thermometers from the same company to all my friends, especially the ones with children -- who understand emoji language. You wouldn't go wrong with this product, unless of course, you're looking for an ear thermometer as this one is oral or rectal. Otherwise, this is a great product and I'm using it regularly.

The Proven digital thermometer looks like any other digital thermometer at first glance. The box was appealing, with some of the most important pros right on the box, such as "fast, 10 sec", "flexible", smiley face indicator, and "switchable" from Fahrenheit to Celsius switching capability. It comes in a clear case, to avoid easily damaging the thermometer, to keep it clean, and to make portability easy. It's super easy to use, and has easy-to-read, simple instructions right on the back of the box, for people like me, who HATE reading instruction sheets! It also tells you what the high temperature range is, especially for those who think 99 degrees is a fever. ;) There is a really cool smiley face indicator, with a smile indicating a temperature < 99 degrees, a "meh" face indicating slightly elevated temperature, and frowning face indicating temperature > 100.I also love that the tip is flexible. I really could've used this when my kids were small, as the thermometers I used had stiff tips, which only made them more angry, because it was comfortable too! Most importantly, it's priced right! This thermometer is perfect for anyone of any age, and I would highly recommend it to anyone!*I would love it even more if it had a low temperature indicator, especially for premature or small infants, who are less able to maintain their own temperatures, and are more likely to have low temperatures when sick, rather than fevers.

While looking for a thermometer I found the iProven at my local pharmacy. I picked it up because of its clean blue and white packaging that stood out on the rack. The package clearly advertised the rapid read, flexibility, and loud alarm features and these were just the things I was looking for in a thermometer. When I did purchase this product and utilized it, I found it to be easy to use and it resulted as quick as the manufacturer claimed it would. The tone on completion was loud enough to hear even by my husband. who suffers from issues with loss of hearing in one ear. The thermometer is capable of showing a happy or sad face based on the result for those unsure of the best temperature range that they should maintain. This range is clearly explained in the included pamphlet of directions found in the packaging. I found it a little difficult to open the plastic container at first, but that became easier with use and I looked at it as if it was kept clean in the packaging since it was sealed tightly. Based on all of the features offered with this product I feel it was worth the price I paid for it. I feel it provided accurate results. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends who are looking for a thermometer for daily use in their home.
