Enter AudioTechnica M30X
Exit JBL, Exit Bose, Exit Sony - Enter AudioTechnica M30X Before I start this review, I want to mention that I see a lot of reviews on many websites including Amazon which review a Car and then talk about I) the taste of tyres 2) the smell of the bumper 3) The colour of the chassis. DOES IT MAKE SENSE? Well, if it doesnt please understand that we better talk of build quality, packaging and sound when it comes to a headphone and not about our favourite colour, odour of the box or the thickness of the instruction manual paper. Lets get the basics right. We classify music into: Highs = treble, cymbals (typically 4000-20000Hz) Mids = midrange, female opera singer (350-4000Hz); Lows = bass (20-350 Hz) We also need to assure that the sound quality from the source is the best. This means your old Bollywood songs do not require good headphones and if at all, its a waste of money. Based on these parameters I would rate AudioTechnica for the following songs 1) Cypress Hill - Insane in the Brain Highs - NA Mids -10/10 Lows - 9/10 The M30X captures all the details that one might have missed on other headphones. The mids are splendidly captured, again with good details of the lead vocals. The lows are exceedingly satisfactory but neutral. Bassheads need to look elsewhere. 2) Edward Maya - Historia de Amor Highs - 10/10 Mids -10/10 Lows - NA Once again the M30X captures sounds that one could not hear due to a bad headphone. The highs and mids are a treat to the year. Pure pleasure. 3) Radiohead - Creep Highs - 10/10 Mids -10/10 Lows - 10/10 I love this song. Its one of the best songs to test your headphone along with some tracks from Prodigy and many more. The synchronized chord progression is repeated throughout the whole song, alternating between arpeggiated chords in the verses and last chorus, complimented by loud power chords during the first two choruses. The M30X are unbelievably good here. You really fall in love with these headphones. Trust me, these headphones are a league. If at all I would have to recommend a change it would be a better earpad quality and a Bluetooth for the same price. I know I am demanding for a lot more at this price. Having said that, the M30X are the best balanced headphones in this series. The M50X and M40X are typically for studio use and do not fit in much for personal usage unless your ears are paranormal or you are an alien who can listen to abnormal frequencies. The build quality is very good but could have been much, much better to be the best. The accessories (extension chord and leather bag) are really impressive. Just assure that you listen to the best quality of music from the best possible source and see the magic. Highly Recommended + 10/10.

Very good under this budget for mixing and Mastering
Pros: 1. Good Build Quality 2. Produce accurate sound needed for music production 3. Very long Cable length 4. Wide Frequency Range Cons: 1 Uncomfortable during extended usage 2. Some kind of heat sensation in the ear 3. The collapsable feature makes it difficult to maneuver the headset as the speakers have a tendency to stay in the collapsible position

Loving it every moment
This is a really good headphone. Let me start off with the delivery, it arrived on time, was in a bigger package than what I had in mind. The package was a little damaged, though not a lot. The unpacking experience was quite good. Everything was neatly packed and covered. The carry pouch looks like it'll hold for quite a long time. The headphones look fabulous... They could be folded up easily. The 3.5 mm jack was hidden under the bigger one. The cable is really long, too long for travel purposes, so I recommend you tie it up. The earcups cover your ears perfectly and smoothly. Felt very good. I usually get hot ears very fast, but using these, it took longer for my ears to heat up, and it wasn't too hot... The noise isolation is really good. You couldn't hear your own voice at high volumes. Don't use high volumes for long intervals though. With that said, the quality of sound was just pure. The lows, the mids, the highs, everything was so crisp. I heard instruments that I've never heard in songs that I've played thousands of times before. A true professional look and feel to it. It is made out of plastic, but quality is top notch. Certainly something I'd suggest you to buy if you have the money. I of course got it at the discounted rate. It's like the best headphone at this price range. The surround sound effects are heavenly! I don't enjoy too much bass, so this was perfect for me as everything was equally balanced. Highly recommended.

Most trusted studio headphone.
After using it for 18 days, I found this product is of great quality. It has a balanced sound. Tight bass. Vocals are clear too. Those who loves music can have this Audio Tecnica 30 with affordable price. I use it through Vivo 20 G. Phone not for studio monitoring.

Perfect for it's price
Bought it for music production but have been using it for other tasks as well. For music production, this is more than enough for beginners and good enough for professional producers. The frequencies are well balanced and overall experience is good. For casual users, I would definitely suggest to go for it. For listening music and watching anime/webseries/youtube videos, this provides a great sound quality and you won't be disappointed. The wire is also pretty long and the build quality is premium. As for the cons: 1) There is no noice cancellation. 2) No microphone 3) No detachable cable After 1 year of usage, I can assure you that this is the headphone you should go for at this price point.

These are really nice. Really, really nice. I was looking for new headphones, as my rather elderly Koss UR-27's had finally broken down. (No slight against Koss, they make great headphones too.) But I'm an audiophile on a budget, so i wanted the best headphones I could find, for under $100. These fit the bill for me. Very light, the earpieces are angled slightly to fit over my ears quite comfortably, the cushions are soft but supportive. The closed back keeps out a great deal of outside noise, though I have yet to try them on an airplane. The M30X is tuned to enhance mid-range sound, so voice, as well as woodwinds, sound rich and full, with great clarity. The sound is well balanced in the highs and lows as well. Keep in mind that your phone or MP3 player will not provide much power, so the bass end is going to suck no matter what headphone you use. i use these primarily with my laptop, but also on the stereo receiver, where they really shine. Really well-balanced sound, plenty of bass with no distortion; I'm primarily an indie-rock girl, but I also listen to choral music, a bit of jazz here and there, some Bach, some Beethoven, some Berlioz, etc. I've been hearing things in my music I hadn't really heard before, which is really fun. I can make out David Bowie's baritone part in TV on the Radio's song 'Province' very clearly now, for instance. I encourage you to go to Audio-Technica's website, they've got a lot of information there about all their products, and you can ask questions on the discussion board; I found looking through other people's discussions very helpful in making a decision. Pros: light, comfortable to wear, balanced sound with great clarity in the mid-range, they fold up for easy transport, a lot of bang for your buck for sub-$100 headphones, long cord, carrying bag Cons: I haven't really found any yet. I was initially concerned about the exposed wire that runs along the expanding part of the headband, but they seem to have been twisted and set in such a way that they can't get caught in the expander. I do have small ears, so I imagine that if you have exceptionally large ears, you may find these don't fit comfortably around them All in all, I'm really happy with my purchase. I may decide to pick up some Koss UR-40's at some point, just to have some variety, or maybe one of Audio-Technica's numerous models of open-back headphones. I'm quite impressed with the quality of these, I think you will be too. Cheers!
