I just received a BOSTANTEN ratchet belt, and feel pretty good about the purchase so far. My experience in ratcheting belts comes from a Comfort Click, which I was gifted about two years ago and wore daily. The Comfort Click still works great, and the only issue is that I have trimmed off as much of the belt as comfortably possible from four or five repairs. In looking for a nice replacement for the Comfort Click, I found the BOSTANTEN, and bought it mostly because of the design and finish. My first day experience with the belt has been beautiful, because the belt was already sized and crimped ready to go. I love the design of the buckle, and also enjoy the ratchet release mechanism which operates slightly different than the Comfort Click. One major plus is the BOSTANTEN belt is about a quarter inch thicker than the Comfort Click. I definitely recommend this belt to anyone looking for a solid piece, mostly because ratcheting belts are the way to go and BOSTANTEN did a great job on my belt.

I ordered one of these in brown and in black and initially loved them but unfortunately they did not hold up. The buckle has teeth that bite into the belt to hold it in place at the end of the belt, but over time they wear through the belt and the belt falls apart on the end. You have to remove the buckle ( no big deal to do) , cut the end off and then reattach the buckle. However depending on how much slack is on the belt, you can only do that so many times before the belt no longer fits. The end of the belt needs to be reinforced to prevent this from happening. The concept of the belt is awesome but the durability is not. I now have almost $40 worth of belts I can no longer use.

So, I have purchased 4 ratcheting belts over the course of 2 years all from different sellers. The first two that I received had broken levers and had to return. The 3rd belt was nice except when it came to loosening it. Basically, you had to pull up on the entire buckel and this caused the other side of the buckel to push into your waist. It was very ackward. The belt had to be replaced because the buckel part finally fell off the leather strap somewhere and I never found it.I received this new BOSTANTEN belt the other day and right away I could tell this was better than any of the other options I have tried in the past. First, the buckel itself is really nice and has a considerable amount of weight to it. It is a couple different shades of black chrome with subtle lines for pattern. The belt itself appears to be good quality and hopefully stand up (time will tell).The one con I would give is that the end of the belt doesn't quite reach my 2nd loop to tuck away in my pants after cutting it. I didn't want to cut it shorter so that I can leave enough slack in case I gain weight in the future. It would be nice to have a sliding belt loop placed on the belt itself for this. But this is very minor since the belt does curve in naturally and doesn't hang out and you really can't tell even with a tucked in shirt.

First of all, ignore the reviews saying this belt is too complicated/hard to get off, it's not, the people who feel that it is probably have no business wearing a belt in the first place.As for the belt itself, the buckle seems to be good quality metal. It feels solid, without feeling bulky. It seems to be scratch resistant, though I'm not very rough with it.The leather is decent and well stitched. The ratcheting portion seems to be strong and not showing obvious wear. I liked how easy it was to trim the belt to get that perfect length/look I wanted.As for taking the belt off, just relieve the tension on it (suck in that gut) and pull the small lever away from your body and it should slip right off. Honestly I find it easier and more comfortable to both wear and put on or take off than a traditional belt. I will probably buy another one in brown soon.

Everything about this belt is perfect. From the packaging to the actual use of the belt. I’ve worn it for a few months 4 days a week at work. By far the best belt I’ve every owned. And that says something as I’ve worn about 100 in my adult lifetime. I dress business casual to formal every day and this belt has worked for both. I’ve even tested it on a pair of jeans, still looks great. I’m going to buy a couple more back ups and try their different styles. This would be a great gift for a dad or husband who complains about belts.Note. I’m a 32 and went a size up, works great but I’m going down a size for a better fit with less left over.

I had high expectations when I ordered this belt. When it arrived I was impressed with the quality put into this belt. There were no instructions as to how to put it on or take it off so I played with it until I figured it out. It is simply a button to push and it releases. That is, when the belt is not on. When I put it on, I could not release it. I tried and tried and could not. Finally I sucked my tummy in and gave it some slack. I released but only about two inches. That was just enough for be to slip my trousers off and get the belt released. Then I tried it by hand again. With slack released, no slack, no release. Great looking and well made, sort of.Returned it.

I really love the look and feel of the belt, and the sound the belt makes when you tighten it up around your waist is so oddly satisfying. I can't possibly go back to regular belts now that I've gotten hooked on ratchet belts. My one, small complaint (which unfortunately knocks off a star) is that the belt itself is starting to warp after only a couple months. I feel like it doesn't have the strength to last years or even decades like some of my older belts did. Problems aside, I would still overwhelmingly recommend this belt.

I've gone through 3 of my belts since the beginning of the year just through wear and tear so I obviously needed a new one, I've had ratchet belts before but not an actual leather one, so I thought I'd go all out this time, this belt has a really classy finish to the buckle the ratchet itself is very smooth, obviously I know the wear of the ratchet against the leather will only last so long but they do seem to last longer than other belts

sorry I had put a review the other day all I can say I I AM SO SORRY I bought another belt from another company and they were so bad to deal with.....any this is a wonderful company the belt for the money is stunning....my son was delighted with it all his friends are asking where they could get one of the same.....the buckle is strong and has weight in it the leather is soft to ware it does not have the cutting in feeling from new belts..highly recommend the company and the belt again I am sorry

For those people worrying about reports that belts of this kind are difficult to remove, let me note that it’s actually quite easy, so long as you know this: the ratchet mechanism is designed to tighten under tension. If you just tweak the lever on the buckle when the belt is done up tight, it will be difficult to remove. What you need to do is grip the belt below the buckle with your free hand and pull slightly toward it, taking some of the tension off the mechanism. This will allow the catch to disengage and the buckle should slide off easily.

The leather is soft and pliable, the buckle looks good but is unnecessarily difficult when it comes to getting undressed, especially so if you have problems with your hands or fingers. Putting on is easy with the ratchet system, but removal requires you to push a pint then pull a little lever? Most of the time I end up just pulling my pants down and leaving them till the next day to attempt to release the buckle.

Really really impressed by this belt. From the beautiful packaging to the ease of using it and the quality. It really feels like it's going to last a long time!!! The metal quality, release mechanism, engraving and way of threading the belt through make this an excellent choice to my wardrobe!!! It feels like a piece of quality engineering rather than an instrument to help hold your trousers up!!! Buy without hesitation!!! Highly recommended!!! A+++
