Had to hang a very large piece requiring alignment of 6 separate hangers to support the piece. BINGO. This thing was WELL worth the price even if I only hung one piece. But I can use it to hang collages, and several other large pieces to ensure proper alighnment. Works GREAT.

This laser level works very well for home projects.1. It has two modes: Unlocked mode and Locked mode2. Unlocked mode (Automatic Leveling Mode) uses the internal pendulum to keep the device plumb. This is the mode that is most often used. The laser crosshairs will be plumb with the vertical.3. Locked mode is when the internal pendulum is locked and not used. The laser crosshairs will be relative to the surface that the device is placed on, which might not be leveled.4. It uses 2 AA batteries and comes with a small User's Manual that describes the basic features of the device.5. The green laser light is bright and highly visible.6. It can be mounted on a tripod to keep the device steady.

The laser is easy to use but starts getting off level as you tilt the tripod to the extreme levels up or down.The tripod is terrible. First it only goes about 2 feet high which makes it practically unusable up high on a wall in tight spaces like a closet or hallway. It’s also doesn’t feel sturdy and just feels cheap. Do yourself a favor and get a taller and sturdier tripod.

I had this device for just over 7 months. It worked great. Then it suddenly stopped working. At first I thought it was just the batteries. But even after I changed the batteries twice it still doesn't work. Not sure what the issue is but to stop working after 7 months is not acceptable.Amended review. I have a seller telling me they will replace the faulty unit. They offered - I didn't request a replacement. The seller didn't mention any time limits that applied to their offer. However, Amazon customer service says that the window to replace/refund the purchase has elapsed and for ME to contact the manufacturer myself. Amazon and its sellers/manufacturing partners need to get on the same page and not lead customers on with a false narrative.
