You put it on & it stays on. We had a regular finger splint and it kept slipping off or shifting out of place. Because of the waist band this one stays on. In the beginning we had to go online to see how to configue it to use it correctly. The instructions that came with it were hard to understand. It is easier to have help at first to get it on. When my husband put it on by himself it wasn’t on snug enough. The online video shows the person putting it on themself, so it can be done. We just found it easier to have an extra hand. Believe it or nor it really works and can be adjusted for the 4 fingers listed. They don’t list the thumb and we don’t see how it would works for it.

This was a great buy wife had fractured her finger so I bought this in order to keep it supported and it was great she was able to wear until her finger was completed healed

This works every bit as well as a more expensive custom splint from a physical therapy department.

This is a good, robust finger splint kit. I have trigger finger on my right ring finger. This provides all the support I need and then some. It would work well for anyone needing a good amount of immobilization of the finger. The metal bar is very rigid and will hold your finger just where you want it. According to the instructions, you can bend the bar to whatever curve you would like. But I did not need to. It's very adjustable. The top loop is fixed at the end of the bar, but both the bottom finger loop and the palm loop can be moved up and down the bar to fit you just right. The wrist strap is attached at the bottom, but is adjustable and you can move it up. It is comfortable to wear. I slept wearing it and had no issues. You just need to be sure that all the velcro taps are fully on the material, as they can be a bit rough if they are sticking over the edge or not fully pressed down. The only word of caution I have is for people with very long fingers. I have short, stubby fingers, and at the maximum length, my fingertip sticks out (see the photos). There is no way to make it longer than this. So you can compare, that finger in the splint is 2.75 inches from where it attaches to my hand to the tip. 1 5/8 to the joint fold (measured on the inside of my hand).
