One of the best books in the AI space if you are curious about how GPT and LLMs emerged in Silicon Valley. You will understand background about what all happening around AI space.

Overall a good book , gives a gist of the key people in the field( Hosabis , Sam Altman ,Elon Musk and Satya Nadella) , their philosopies , how situations change them , the key tehnologies , the key players now (like Deepmind , Open AI , Microsoft and Antrophic) , how big tech companies control them. The books also cover the Key risks AI pose. It gives a narrative of how AI started , where it is now and tentatively where it is headed. Author explains well how the the Transformers logic revolutionised the generative AI field but fails to give more details on how exactly it works in the background.
