Very Warm for a lightweight puffer
I bought this in summer on sale and haven't had a chance to try this coat out till now. long story short as possible, I sold coats for a living and in recent years what they call a puffer jacket is a cheap imitation. What they do is make these without down or with down they no longer have the fill power that the older coats have and call them packable. For years I have gone with Mountain Hardwear but the latest one has a poor zipper and broke in under a year. This is a Thinsulate coat (the best synthetic down ever created) and wearing it at about 30 degrees with no layers is max, 45 degrees you are almost sweating. The question is the longevity of the coat and specifically the zipper. For a lightweight puffer it's better than what I have been seeing for EB, MH and probably as good or better than NF thermoball. Quite happy Edit; I care about what I write... So my update is it's about 30-35 degrees with no wind you can wear this max. Cold wind you need a layer underneath. Still happy at 5 stars

Great for medium cold
Love this, actually the 3rd one I have bought. Had two colors in one size and slimmed down and bought another. What’s cool about it is it will keep you warm but not make you sweat, especially if you go inside. Love the hood part and the hood is insulated the same way as the jacket. However, this is not going to keep you warm in frigid below freezing temperatures on its own. I’d say it’s good for temperatures in the high 30s to 50s

A great jacket for winter and worth the price
This is a well constructed jacket from Marmot, looks fashionable, suitable to keep you warm in 35 degree Fahrenheit temperature or even a little lower. You’ll probably want to layer for anything much colder. Right off the bat, I could feel it was a high quality jacket and the “700 fill” was legit and the jacket felt very lightweight. Compared to similiar Hilfiger, North Face, or Eddie Bauer down coats, I’d go with Marmot as it hits that sweet spot of both quality and price m. I only take a star off because the two inside drop pockets are unzipped. I’m glad they were included but having that zipper to keep valuable items secure would have been nice. Besides that it’s quality jacket and fits true to size.

Great all around jacket
Fit is true. Great purchase. Not a winter coat but 3 seasons

Great jacket without PFAS chemicals
Mermot went PFAS free back in 2019 before the mandate in parts of the US, which is why I went with them. Great jacket, very warm and light. Runs a tad small. I'm an XL and this XL fits however it fits a bit tighter than other XL jackets that I own.

Great jacket, wait for a sale.
Great sale price. Wait for a sale. Nice jacket. Colorado winter will tell if it was worth it...

Really weird fit, doesn’t match size chart.
The size chart says go with a medium for people with a 31-34 waist. The medium jacket I received had a waist that was 43” which flared out at the bottom, making me look like a human bell. If it were just too big in general I would have exchanged for a smaller size because it’s fairly well made. However it was also extremely short. I’m 5’9” and this jacket sits about 3” above my hips, leaving my undershirt exposed, looking like a crop top jacket. I feel like I received one of those “odd sizes” jackets that were accidents in the factory. If you’re 5’5” and wear a 38-42” pant, honestly the medium would fit you pretty well. The sizing just seems really weird, I’ve had Marmot jackets before and they’re usually long, so I was really surprised that this one was very short and very wide for a medium. Not sure whether I got a defective jacket or the sizing is just weird on these, but at best that means quality control is not good, which is unacceptable at this price point.
