Oishii!
Delicious! So happy to finally be able to taste natto again! I followed the instructions to rehydrate the natto over night and had it for breakfast with some rice, mixed with a bit of soy sauce and mustard, and it was just like the natto packs you can buy at the supermarket. Definitely a treat at this price though!

Makes Natto that tastes OK.
Bit expensive but if you can’t stand the taste and smell of wet natto, this dry stuff is quite tasty.

Not for me
These freeze dried NATTO beans taste awful in my humble opinion. I placed them in a bowl in the fridge just covered with water for four hours as recommended on the instructions. They hydrated by did not go as large as I was expecting and tasted of not that much apart from a strange metallic taste. They are also pretty expensive for the amount you get in a pack.

Difficult to get the right texture, taste became sour
The media could not be loaded. I'm a regular visitor to Japan and I really like natto - when I'm in the UK I have to take a special trip to the Asian supermarket and get it frozen, so I was really keen to try this as it would make it more accessible.I was fairly disappointed by this. It's hard to get an accurate amount of water so that the beans don't become too soggy or remain hard.On opening the smell was fresh and smelled just like it should but once the beans were dehydrated, they were a bit sour and tasteless. Of all the bowls I made, only two portions were edible. A shame, I really liked the idea but far too expensive for the effort and loss.
