Customer Service
We have had this 3.17 Gallon for over a year. We have only used it once. It worked great. When we wanted to use it again, we had lost a piece. I contacted the company to order a replacement telling them we had lost the piece and they shipped us the piece for free.

Works good.
I like the ease of making juice, but the 2 piece let's fruit escape, so some more solid pieces needed to be made. Looks great, solid built. Cleaned it all in the dishwasher came out great.

Mom loves it
Bought for my mom and she couldn’t be happier. She had been looking at estate sales trying to find a cider press but they were all antiques and missing parts. So I looked in my usual spot and found it. Now she makes wine, cider, and whatever other concoctions she can think of. And it’s the perfect size for her rather than those gigantic things she saw in the barns.Great quality, works easily, cleans up easily, and store as away in a smaller space.

Works great, quality construction
I use it with apples after putting them through a grinder and it works great! Together they produce a quality juice. I prefer the 7.9 gallon press. It’s really not that big. And if you wanted to press a smaller load, you can always turn your press blocks on end to get the top plate further down. I think the quality is great and assembly isn’t hard. Do plan on purchasing some extra filter bags. Those will rip or wear out long before the press does. Buy one, it’s well worth the cost.

Paint coming off after 1 use
We used this to press apples and it was okay but the paint started coming off after one use and I don’t want to use it again because I don’t want paint chips in my cider.

A great press for the money
The media could not be loaded. This press works pretty well. After reading the reviews, I decided to oil the wood with mineral oil (to strengthen it) prior to use to avoid any cracking. I oiled it all down with two coats of mineral oil 48 hours prior to the first use. Only heard 1 small crack so far.Really the only reason I gave 4 stars is because unless you screw the legs down and really secure this thing, you'll be miserable. And, as you'll see in the video, I had to find more wood blocks to stack so I could get all the juice out. You won't get it all by only using the blocks that come with it.All in all, my hard cider came out perfect! The fresh apple juice from this is unreal.

Great service
-Easy instructions to follow.-Important to always anchor the press.-Important to always use a crusher before.-There is an extra screw in the box, in case you lose one during assembly..-Clean all equipment before and after use.-The mesh bag can go in the washer, but not the dryer.-Build extra blocs, take a few minutes, but they will be required. My package had a part missing, part No. 1: the handle. All other parts were in the package, so I decided to assemble things, and opened a ticket with Amazon. In no time, the company contacted me to confirm my request (to obtain a handle), and also to provide me with a link to order extra mesh bags. They gave me a link with a discounted price on the mesh bags, and shipped the handle. My other press is 60 or 80 gallons, not sure, but far to large. This new small press is what I required.I've done my first batch of apple cider yesterday, worked great (I used apples that fell from the tree, not as yummy locking, but perfect for this). My tree is a little insane this year, I have to put some 2x4 to protect the branches from breaking (so many apples this year). They are not very suite yet, but like I've done in the past, I'll be making sparkling cider, and apple brandy. If you have questions on how to do this, you ask away. And yes, I'll add pictures of the tree, the press, and cider making (hint: I like to pasteurize the juice, so that I can add my favorite yeast). Wild yeast can give amazing, or horrible results. Using beer yeast if perfect. Don't use champagne yeast, or your cider will be dry like mad.

Careful with adding recommended items
Good product. Does the job of pressing apples.Ordered the recommended extra bags, (i.e., customers also bought these items). Of course they weren't the correct size/don't have a hole in the bottom to fit the press... Will know next time to double check, as these recommendation are just made by an algorithm to get you buy more things.

Really solid press, only has one minor flaw.
Building it took some time but once completed it worked very well. There's only one issue we had. It was with the spout at the bottom. Sometimes the flow of juice would stick to the bottom of the spout and drip further back towards the center of the base. To correct the issue we installed a shim at the back to angle the spout better. Perhaps a future iteration of this product could redesign the spout so it pours at a steeper angle? This way the press could remain level and have a more controlled output drain.

Worked great
Came on time. Packaged appropriately so it wouldn’t be damaged. All parts there. The quality is appropriate for the price. All of the metal parts are good heavy metal. I would guess steel by the weight. They have a nice thick coating to protect the metal and it’s easy to wipe clean. I will need to get some edible mineral oil to keep the screw in good condition. This isn’t even as bad as a IKEA furniture build. Don’t be worried about the reviews saying the build was so hard. A little time consuming to screw 25 slats. Maybe half an hour. I’m a 115lb, 50 year old woman. If I can do it, anyone can.The slats need to be screwed on using a drill. Get the right drill bit so you don’t strip the screws. Press down hard as you screw them in. Notice all the flat ends go one way and the rounded ends go the other way.Notice in the picture I cut spare pressing blocks from 2”x 2” lumber.I screwed the base to a piece of painted plywood and used clamps to keep it tight on a small folding table. You need to secure it to something for turning the press. Otherwise it would just slide around. The instructions do say this. I pre-shredded my apples using a counter top salad master hand shredder. My Ninja blender also worked but only did about 6 apples at a time. Dumping it and scraping the blender really slowed down the process, so I switched to the counter top shredder.I looked up tips online for pressing apple juice. They said if you freeze the apples first and then press, you get more juice.I froze the shredded apple in large ziploc bags, then thawed to press the juice. It took longer than expected to thaw. Give a full 24hours.The first apples I dumped in still had ice crystals. When I pressed it, I got a big apple ice cube. So I had to dig it all out. I put the next bags into hot water to thaw them completely before pressing. We used the press at a Harvest Festival to show the kids an old school way to make juice. It was a big hit. We sold it by the glass as a fundraiser for the school. Just used once so far. We pressed 120lbs of apples. Nothing broke.Another tip was to soak the wood pieces in 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water for 5 minutes, then let air dry to sanitize before the first use.To store for the winter…I sanitized the wood in bleach water 1 tbsp to 1/2 sink of hot water. I let Each side soak for half an hour. I set the pieces on a towel in front of my electric fireplace for a couple days to dry completely. I will store it in an open cardboard box covered with a plastic bag. Keep the dust off, but let the air get in if it wasn’t fully dry.I feel the negative reviews are completely unfair. They must be a one off flaw
