It was the perfect length for a quick read
My 8 year old daughter had to do a report on a scientist and her library only had books on Benjamin Franklin, Benjamin Banneker, and the woman who invented paper bags. Not a wide or exciting selection. I'd heard that Heddy Lamarr invented the precursor to wiki so I went looking for a book. This is it. It was the perfect length for a quick read. She read it in the car on the way to Karate practice and again when we got home. She loved the graphic illustrations (I did, too) and the historical summary at the end. Not to mention the story, it's exciting, informative, and well written. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect fit for this assignment. I think the book is part of a series and I want to own them all. I hope I can find more so we can pass down the whole set to my son.

Great Story, Great Role Model
Nothing inspires feminism in grown men like having a little girl. I'm so sick of princess stories where the main character has to wait around for a man to save her. As the proud daddy of a princess that's not only pretty but SMART and STRONG, the lack of woman-as-leader stories is astounding. Most cartoons are boy-only affairs which never bothered me as a little boy, but the fare offered up for girls is unimaginative and stereotype constrained. As for this book, it's a remarkable tale of a woman known almost exclusively for her acting that did important things in a field dominated by men. My daughter can be anything she wants to and even though at six she wants to be a scientist, I hope to keep exposing her to more women that did extraordinary things. I found this book from the Facebook page, "A Mighty Girl."

Great info in small book
I bought this small book for my WW2 Dad and he loved it. He’s not into reading a whole lot now but was thrilled with this short & concise book about Hedy Lamar. I think it would be a good read for anyone, particularly young students to learn more about various people’s input & progression of discoveries. Hedy Lamar was a pioneer in wireless communications ( wifi, Gps, bluetooth) as well as a movie star. She found out early it was very important to study hard & learn so she could contribute to society

Brains AND Beauty: An Immigrant Who Contributed to the American War Effort
Great book for kids. It summarizes the story of the "most beautiful actress in the world" who turned out to be smarter than her looks. Especially inspiring for young ladies. I bought it for my daughters, but it started me on a quest for more biographies about Hedwig Eva Maria Kiesler, better known to the world as Hedy Lamarr.

Not for the serious student of film history or basics of frequency hopping/spread spectrum radio.
Too simplistic. Does a discredit to Lamarr, her place in covert communication technology. In addition, navigation from panel to panel is cumbersome and non-intuitive. Double-clicking to zoom out to full-page view reveals a blank white page on a Samsung Galaxy SP4 running Android 10. A really back investment for an illustrated piece of non-fiction. Would have avoided it had I known.

Fun way to learn about inventing
These books are a fun way to add inventors and their inventions to our homeschool curriculum. I love the whole set! It's great they have books about female inventors too! My daughter loves them.

Great to teach children and teens about women and history.
This is a quick lesson about Hedy. I was happy with it, even though it is in comic book style. I bought a newer, bigger book for more details.

childrens booklet
Nice color graphics, but only about 25 pages long , hardly worth the money, read it in about 5 minutes, looking for an in depth story, this is not it. would only recommend for kids up to elementary school only,

Great graphic with positive gender view
My daughter loved this. It is great to see material as a counter balance to the "body beautiful" sexualised content usually available to people. This is not feminist propaganda in any way just a (true) story of an intelligent and courageous woman. There are plenty out there, like there are plenty of intelligent and courageous men, it is just that we get to hear of the men more often than the women.Content is suitable for all but requires some maturity for understanding (I am guessing that 8+ is a reasonably good guide i.e. some 8 year olds might struggle but some 7 year olds might find it a breeze). I may have got this way off as I find it difficult to guage but my 11 year old found it easy enough. I intend to read it too as it looks an interesting story and not at all patronising.

Lightweight and not good value
A lightweight graphic comic about Heddy Lamarr. Factually light and giving only a brief outline of her life and inventions.I am sorry I wasted my money.

Comic not Book
I thought it was, for the price, a proper book, not a small comic strip!!!

Good but smaller then personally expected
The delivery was fast at time, the book is as desribed.I was expecting a proper comic book not a small one, but I think it was my fault; I should have read the whole detailed description.
