True Style: The History and Principles of Classic Menswear Hardcover – Illustrated, 8 Sept. 2015

This book was a delightful read about menswear. The author has a particular style that is missed by most other writers on the subject which prevents the subject matter becoming dry. In fact I go back to the book from time to time and appreciate the text more the second or third time I read it.

This superb book is all about knowledge, substance, style, and historical insights concerning the clothes you wear, should wear more or should refrain from wearing if you wish to be taken seriously (personally, socially and sartorially).

A very good book of you have nothing else by Mr Boyer but otherwise there's too much lifted from his earlier book.

If you're looking for the history and principles of classic menswear, look elsewhere. Lots of meandering thoughts that never get close to the principles. Only buy this for the suggested reading at the back which probably is much better.
